The roots of Jazz include many Afro-American folk music traditions, such as spirituals, work songs, and blues. It also borrowed from 19th century band music and the ragtime style of piano playing. Our hosts walk us through the colourful origins of the genre and discuss its influence on the African continent.

South African culture was forever shaped by the events of the 90's. Music's contribution to the era cannot be recognised without mentioning the impact of one uniquely South African genre, Kwaito. In this episode, the babies are joined by Linda Mlotshwa, a music enthusiast and all-round good guy.
