This week we talk a lot about the booming business scene in Ottawa— between niche coffee shops and local movie sets. We zero in on local business owner and musician, Kathleen Edwards, who has just released her fifth studio album (August 2020). Then we talk some more about the different spots around the city that are featured in big films. 

This weeks Down to the City starts off with a shoutout to 'The Dog is Mine' by k-os and it doesn't end there. We dive into k-os and his versatility as an artist, as he doesn't stick with any one genre, displaying that in his discography and collab with the CBC in The CBC Radio Orchestra. We then talk about the timeline of Rock through diving into Guitar Hero II and made a Spotify playlist for you with tracks featured on the game.

This weeks episode of Down to the City features a discussion on Julian Taylor as highlight his recent album along with diving into who he is as an artist.  Then we preview our video releasing tonight of interviewing and getting tattooed Chris Thomas; owner, partner and tattoo artist of 3 Round Tattoo. Lastly, we talk about thrifting and some thrift stores in the city that we will be collaborating with in the future.

We kick things off with some music talk specifically breaking down the subliminal meanings of JJ Wilde's recent album cover 'Ruthless', as Tamara has the inside scoop from a previous encounter. Tam then whips out the whiteboard and breaks down a 'Funny to Hot Matrix'. We then tease a joint video we did with a local tattoo parlour coming next week.

DTTW Entertainment's new podcast 'Down to the City' brings you a 22 year-old newcomer to the city chalking it up with a 22 year-old veteran of the area. Listen every Wednesday for discussions on alternative music, how we're interacting with initiatives and companies in the city (spoiler alert, we interview the owner of a new tattoo parlour while getting tattooed) and discussions on various topics through a contradicting male vs female perspective.
