Spoilers? Not so much, but the story was awful.
If I were being completely honest, I would have given this book 1 star - it was just that bad. A horrible, horrible, horrible story. I usually like this author, but this book was a hot mess. The best parts were when Ryder and Daisy put in their token appearance.
Everything seemed so rushed about this story. No time for character development or story backdrop before they were - BAM! "Doing the do". I mean, if you want to write a story about casual hook-ups, then don't masquerade it as a love story with a HEA. Call a spade a spade. They were both cheap, shallow, pathetic - whiny characters. And the sex scenes were sooo boring. I found myself skipping page after page.
The plot development was so predictable, the characters so childish, the situations so laughable, the punishments doled out were so ridiculous (enough with the pig sties already!) and the casualness with which the many killed dragons were just sort of glossed over, all of this made the story, well, just so-so. Honestly, the whole desperate to have dragonlings, but leaving the unhatched clutch in the hands of complete strangers was completely unbelievable.
Almost from the beginning I started to feel that someone else, someone with very limited talent, had written this book and was using St. Clair's name. Don't do that, it dilutes your brand. You're better than this drivel.
If you can read this book for free and have not a single better thing to do than put yourself to sleep - go for it. Otherwise, don't waste your money. Even at $0.99 cents it wasn't worth the time or money. Sorry, this one was badly done.
My favorite in the Mating Game series
Once more we get glimpses of our beloved Daisy and Ryker from the first in this glorious series. This book however is about Daisy's BFF Cadence. All of a sudden she has become secretive. Daisy (heavily pregnant and turning into her super sleuthing mother in law) does some snooping. Cadence hid a letter from a fertility clinic saying she's super duper fertile. So of course Daisy assumes this must mean her best friend wants cubs. To do so she'd need her own mate, so she comes up with a plan. She heads to her aunt and owner of the Mating Agency that brilliantly matched her with her very own beloved. On her way in she passes a rather handsome man named Orion. Her aunt informs her this uber rich hunk is in fact a dragon. Cut to Cadence confessing to Daisy that she's no longer a wolf. In fact she can no longer shift at all. Shocked, Daisy asks what's going on. Apparently Cadence's father was a dragon.
