Better grab the box of tissues poor Leonidas

I like this book because you get to see Leonidas, I could always tell from the first three books that there was more to Leonidas than just the Playboy. I think this could be one of my favorites. However I must say that I don't care very much for Rosalynn also I was already annoyed with the way these books cut off in the middle. I don't know if this was a publishing problem or the author was rushed publishing dates are what but ever since reading the first book I absolutely fell in love with the concept the plot the characters but I've always felt that the first three books could've been one book and this one seems to just drop off right in the middle I can't even really call it a cliffhanger it's almost like a deadline was reached in they said here take what I got. That being said the story itself is good enough to make me want to put up with the shortness of the so-called novels personally I think they would do better is to really release them as maybe a complete box collection for the first three and so on that's my only complaint with this when this time is that it just it doesn't seem finish I don't know if they did it to make more money on publishing or what the motivation. I have to say though the narration is much better than the first three books the woman and did the first three books drove me absolutely up the wall because she didn't sound like she was reading a fantasy story about dragons she sounded like she was giving a 6 o'clock emergency news report. Or maybe some undercover interviews I don't know but it drove me nuts but it does say something for the quality of the story that I was able to ignore that in order to finish. I personally plan to purchase the rest of the series on Kindle since books 6 and on is not available there is one thing that I have a question about Lucian and now Leonidas and even Lexander seem to think that the only thing required is that the woman love them that they don't have to love her.

What happened to Eric!!!

I know this series is YA and I am well past that but loved the first 3 books, but what happened in books 4-6. Eric has become this pathetic little lapdog who does nothing but say i love you to Zoe and run around her every wish. The author totally killed his character and Zoe has become a snipey pretentious brat, not an emerging mage. Amanda I cannot work out if you started to hate these characters whist finishing the series and this came out in your writing or something else very weird. If I had not bought the box set 4-6 I would never have bought books 5 & 6, which is a real shame a loved the first 3 :(

The fake, I'm trying to be sexy voice takes away from the story. The other narrator was much better from the first trilogy.

I don't know if the books are good bc I could not stand the choice of narrator. It's not that she was bad, it that she is reading a book that is totally inappropriate for her voice. Its from a characters in her late 20s but the narrotor sounds like she is 65+.

Zoe is my favorite character

I found this book so fascinating I'm so glad that she kept writing more about Zoe and the abilities that she has with Eric that she had did of the Covenant College is so wonderful and it kept me reading and reading they don't want to stop.

The best so far.

The storyline in this one really captivated me. Most of the time, when it comes to the "will they make it or won't they" part, there's no real tension since you already know they'll make it. In this book though, I found myself so into the story, I was actually getting tense. I had to remind myself that they would be fine.

The narrator for these books is pretty good. She could work on having better voices for the male characters though. She does the lead male voice fine. It'll sounds like a man. The other male voices though will tend to sound less manly. Van's voice in this book sounded like a ten year old boy. Her acting and inflection though were both really well done.

I'm looking forward to the next book.

Damn.

I got this book in the afternoon and ended up finishing it in one night.

It's seriously HOT. I've been through my fair share of erotic romance novels with fantasy themes but none have had the amount of character chemistry that this one had. I hadn't read the first book but saw that it was good as a stand-alone so I figured it was okay to get and it was so worth it. You really don't need to read the first book at all. The world is simple and confidently established enough to be believable to the reader. Although sometimes the bickering was a bit dramatic as a way to push the story along the characters personalities are believable.

The narrator was one I've heard before and the reason I found the book in the first place. Her style of narration is PERFECTION and her character dialog is distinct yet not pushing it. She's not reading like you would a child but TELLING the story. She gives certain tones and dialects that sound more natural than a lot of narrators I've listened to. Twas a pleasure.

I find the punishment scenes the hottest. My two favorites are when he uses his belt after Melissa disobeys and then again when he uses the cane after she sneaks out to see the house he is working on.

Which character as performed by Sierra Kline was your favorite?

Sierra Kline does the most fantastic job of narration in this book. She has a separate intonation for several of the different characters and they are all awesome. I love how she does Cody and Melissa.

Yes, there are sections of this book that made me both laugh and cry (at different times).

Fabulous, Fun and Sexy as He##. This is a great story about a female that is lost in her own life. Until she meets a stiff male Dragon taking a swim He's bossy she's stubborn. This story is full of exciting entertainment this is a family we all wish we had . Loved it this series is highly recommended.

I LOVE LISTENING TO A STORY I READ SOME TIME AGO. THIS IS TOUCHING, SHOWS THE BRAVERY AND LOVE BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RELATIONSHIP. Once again Jessie Donovan has done it. She has captured my heart with her characters. She tempted us with a peek at Gina, a very pregnant human, alone near a lock (lake) Fergus visited when he needed to think and be alone. The feisty little human railed at him and he fought a chuckle at her bravery.

A book or two later and she provided us Gina and Fergus' story. If you want to know why we die hard fans were so anxious for this story read the story of his twin and mate. Drawn to the area and watching over the lass, he sees her grab her middle and he is on it. Not so romantic maybe, but a touching beginning to a love story you will not forget. He and his dragon soon know she means more than she is willing to admit. And with her history with dragonmen who could blame her.

Still, alone and having a dragon baby is not going to happen. If that was the only problem, it would come with other associated issues, but the father and his clan present even more danger. Will Fergus' clan help her with the baby and the enemy clan?

There will be steam, family mischief, loyalty, clan safety, and so much more. Emotions, reader and story characters, will run the race of high to low and everything in between. Tears, joy, laughter, possessiveness, fear, and on and on.

Different Kind of Hero - Mild Spoilers

Cynful is the long awaited sequel to Bear Necessities, and is book 2 in the Halle Shifters series by Dana Marie Bell, which is a spinoff of her Halle-Pumas series and related to her Poconos Pack series. Julian is spirit bear shifter with extraordinary healing powers and a shamanistic outlook on life. He has known the identity of his fated mate for some time, however due to a vision that warned of his possible death which would result in her death as well if they were mated, Julian did not claim her from the beginning. Cyn is a human, who is adamant about maintaining her independence and not letting a man control her life, an attitude that was solidified when her mother was left completely useless after the death of her very controlling father. Cyn finds out about the mating and Julian's reasons for not mating her, and resents the fact that he made the decision on his own without consulting her about her own future. All of this happened in the previous book. In Cynful, we get the story of how Julian sets out to win his mate. Now that the circumstances surrounding the vision have passed, Julian is desperate to claim his mate, but Cyn is not in the same frame of mind. Cyn makes Julian jump through hoops to prove to her that he is not a controlling man, intent on running her life, and that he is her perfect match. I'm still a unsure about this book.

The story line is interesting and the book is well written, but the characters are unremarkable and difficult to relate to. Worth a try, but probably not the right book for me.

Very Adolescent Story Line

The story line was probably interesting for middle school ages but it was predictable and very tame for adults. I found the overuse of adjectives very annoying and would no recommend it.

the girl needs to grow a backbone

Kathryn never opens her mouth to tell anyone off or the truth when they stop for food she worries what people would think if she said she was kidnapped by people who thought they were werewolves well just say I've been kidnapped stand up and open your mouth when your in trouble if she had she would have found out her parents were still alive and could have gone home and not put up with such a bully as the so called Alpha.

I applaud the narrator

Ok maybe I have outgrown YA or maybe this is just poorly written. Third person writing is tricky and not well down here. Identifying character by hair color and size is ridiculous and annoying. Katherine is so immature and volatile in personality it because tedious. The girl can't see the forest through the trees and instead of coming off as a strong young lady she just seems stupid. Denial and revolt seems to be her only solutions so this is where I think that I outgrew YA because I just can't relate to this TSTL heroine. The whole pack and Bastien are not well developed and the secrets they keep to make this story a story are just silly. As a writer she needs to come up with a stronger storyline that doesn't make all your character unlikeable.

Illogical behavior

It is not often that I write reviews but I got so frustrated whilst listening to this book, that I had to take some time to rant, I mean explain my annoyance. There isn't much I can say without spoilers but I will try. The actions of the female protagonist was the most illogical, irrational, reckless behavior that I have had the displeasure of reading/listening about. Her actions made her come off as unintelligent and insipid.

Where does The Scarlet Tanager rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

I think this is the best book in the Annika Brisby series. It is if those first two books build to this one.

What about Nick Cracknells performance did you like?

I was very happy to hear that Emigh Cannaday used the same narrater as she use for the first book (The flame and the arrow) in 'the Annika Brisbey' series.The narrater, Nick Cracknell has a nice voice. He is easy to listen to. Sometimes a bit monotome, but certainly very clear. His pronounciation is very good. The sound quality is also good. it was nice and clear. Nick Cracknell's acting skills brought the characters to life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Annika went dancing in the village, also when Annika and Talvi got together again and my more.

It is an honest review and the complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.This book started off with deception, action, and a sinister villain. It then went for a ride into the realm of appalling. Honestly, poor Annika! Then with another twist to the story, past actions comes back to haunt Finn and confuse Annika. This book was truly wonderful. This story is told primarily from the perspective of Finn. Annika is a huge part of this book but suffering from memory loss she is fighting her way to the truth.Talvis older brother and he has always been a big brother to him even if he did not condone his actions, until Annika. Throughout the series Finn has found himself torn between his feelings for Annika. In this book we are seeing a whole new Finn. He is obsessive and has become very unhealthy and dysfunctional.In my previous reviews I have always felt that Annika needed to grow up a little and I am really wowed by her development in this story.

This book would be so much better if only it wasn't read in the most annoying way. Each and every sentence start and ends with the same intonation, and personally it drove me crazy! Few minutes into listening I've regretted purchasing it.

The story is pretty cool, but the narrative spoils it all.

Couldn't listen to her voice for more than 10 min

I wish I could've listened to more than 10 minutes of this book, because I like PC Cast's other works a lot. But this narrator was awful. She ended every single phrase, not just sentence, with an upward inflection. It was like listening to a book filled with rhetorical questions. I kept waiting for sentences to end, and none of them did. I guess it wasn't so much that she seemed to be asking questions and more so that each sentence seemed to end with a comma. She extended every last word; nothing was inflected down and very few words were emphasized when they probably should've been. I recommend reading this book if you're really looking to get the story; don't listen to it. It was giving me a headache.

This book was such a let down! Epic waste of time and it's a shame because I couldn't put down House of Night

I love this book, but...

When I first got this audio book, I could not listen to it. I didn't like how the narrator was reading the book. As I have read this series several times in my head I guess it had always sounded different to me. After reading the book again, I then decided to try the audio format. I am still not fond of the tone or cadence, but it is nice to have the book in audio form. This book series still remains my favorite.

Interesting premise. Made me stick to listening to find out the conclusion.

A bit drawn out, would have moved the story along at a faster pace.

What didnt you like about Caitlin Daviess performance?

I'm sorry to say that the performance is driving me crazy! When did the english language change the pronunciation of words to exclude the letter "T"? As an example 'forgotten becomes "for ga en," tighten becomes" ti en', etc.

Do you think Goddess of the Sea needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Another great story from Eve Langlais

Spunkie shifter computer wiz (anglo female) finds love (anglo male) along with an on going mystery & drama. This is part of an interesting series.. Very entertaining.
