Number-one best-selling author Leslie Gould delivers a new Amish romance series. When Amish farmer Pete Treger moves to Paradise Township, Pennsylvania, seeking a better life, he meets sisters Cate and Betsy Miller. Both are beautiful, but older sister Cate is known more for her sharp tongue and fiery temper than her striking appearance. Betsy, on the other hand, is sweet and flirty - and seems to have attracted most of the bachelors in Lancaster County! However, the sisters' wealthy father has made one hard and fast rule: Elder sister must marry first, before the younger can even start courting. Unfortunately for poor Betsy, and for the men who want to court her, her older sister, Cate, doesn't have any suitors - until Pete comes to town, that is. Though he finds both sisters attractive, something about Cate's feisty demeanor appeals to him. Soon the other bachelors in the district convince Pete to court Cate. She hardly seems receptive to his overtures, though. Instead, she's immediately suspicious of his interest.

    amish
Would you listen to The Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club again? Why?
I would listen to this book again. It was interesting how english and Amish mingled. Not sure how true this would necessarily be bu it is a novel.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    Yes.
    Any additional comments?
The characters seemed to be true to who they were portrayed to be for the most part.
    Nice little story.
Quick read. Has seven stories going simultaneously. A couple of them are not realistic. Not one of my favorite books.
    Heart warming
The plot caused you to be curious enough to keep returning with multiple plot lines. I was surprised at every corner.
    Excellent story

author is great, story is good and reader is awesome. this is the second book of his o have read, loved them both.
    Good Christian Fiction
This was s case where the narrator reading his own story worked. Fabry is very real and non-preachy. A timely story of drug cartels, border issues and the good people in the middle of it all.

Good Story But a Final Few Loose Threads
What did you love best about Found?
Gray's strength is holistic thinking, featuring the solid relationships of characters and how they help one another through the shock of this murder, and the consequences of the victim's actions and behavior when alive, all beautifully knit together.
I especially love the partnership model between the young men and women. It's a real pleasure to see people valuing love, caring, working even very difficult problems out to benefit both, balancing their individual needs against the context of Amish teachings, making up their own minds.
In this final episode, the characters are more fully fleshed out; you get to know and like them even more, even as the realization dawns that Perry Borntrager, the young man who descended into his own hell of drug abuse and selling, was not murdered by his outsider
drug suppliers; it had to have been someone local.
In an unusual intuition, I guessed who it must be, but not the right reason. Many members had been hurt, but they each had been forthright in facing how Perry had injured them, and were coming to terms with it, by reaching out to each other.
Nevertheless, the climax was complicated, very real, and interesting. My disappointment was that the actual crime of the murder was unclear. Was it actually an intentional taking of Perry's life, or a kind of negligence, or a related malefaction?
Because of this confusion the denouement was not as satisfying as it might be. Further, as a minor point, each of the main characters experiences a growth and fulfillment of purpose and partner, except Beth, who was one of my favorite characters, because she
freely admitted her faults (couldn't cook or clean very well), but had outstanding virtues
of loyalty and loving support. You felt it would happen eventually, but it would have been more delicious to have included her.
    Really good book
I got this book as soon as I saw it was on Audible.com
This is a really good book , answered so many questions . Just couldn't put it down , had to know who killed Parry . It really gets you involved in the story . The killer wasn't who I thought it was , really surprised me big time . Who would have thought .
The people in the story felt like old friends I'd known for years .

    Love her books!!
I just recently discovered Irene Hannon's books. I'm working my way through them all! This one definitely did not disappoint!
    Many twists & turns
If you could sum up Lethal Legacy in three words, what would they be?
    Entertaining, fast paced
What did you like best about this story?
    The unexpected trusts and turns.
What didnt you like about Brian Hutchisons performance?
He does not put meaning to the words. He reads the words but doesn't seem to comprehend the story.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Murder, betrayal, the mafia and romance.
    Loved the Story
The narration was not very good. The narrator did not do a very good job of making a distinctive tonal change in the voice for each character.
    Hooked!
I had never read anything by this author before, but thought the summary sounded good. I was hooked from the first chapter! The plot had enough twists and turns in it to keep me guessing what would happen next. Although the male narrators voice was overall smooth, his dialog of female characters sometime sounded....well downright weird. However, it wasn't enough of a distraction to take away from the story. I would definitely recommend this clean romance/suspense book to anyone. If you like Dee Henderson, you need to try Irene Hannon!
    Love some Irene Hannon stories
I do love some Irene Hannon stories and this one is right in line with her great work, but I haven't been a fan of her narrator .
Thank God for this new narrator Brian Hutchinson!
It was nice to have a male narrator, and even nicer to have one who could act. Thanks for changing narrators because I honestly couldn't do any more of your previous.
My only complaint in the stories is that missionary dating thing you got going on with the character. The idea that the character comes to know God through a desire to be in a relationship with someone who does know God is not cool. The other complaint is that your characters all have terrible eating habits and it kills me. Other than that, awesome crime and law enforcement insight!

    Loved them all.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Any additional comments?
    Great-light-feel-good story!
    cute story
A great story and a great narrator. you can't even tell there were different authors.
I already bought the next book, "Smitten book club".
    Cute story, but predictable.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. It was feel good. A bit predictable, but enjoyable.
    Reads Like a Hallmark Movie
The book has a lot to do with faith and love. I really like Kristin Billerbeck's other books. Also, I got it for a lighter read, and it did not disappoint in that area. However, the reader is too sickly sweet, and that hampered the book for me. (For example, there is a 12 year old who sounds like she's 4 or 5). I enjoyed the stories, but there was a bit too much repetition.
Essentially, you're getting 4 stories where a woman doesn't think she can be with a man because they're "just friends" and then all of the sudden, she has feelings for him. The thing is, these women are 30 not 13. By that age, you get over that idea and just talk to a man honestly. So, in that sense, the book did not ring true, and it was like hearing the same story 4 times.
I would have instead liked to hear just one story-- the third one in the book. It had a lot of potential-- a divorced father and a damaged woman, both now Christians after their mistakes and both looking for love and grace.

    Members Reviews:
Mixed Bag but Worth the Purchase
I listened to this book via a download from http://audible.com. My favorite novella was Kelly Long's Christmas Cradles. I also enjoyed Beth Wiseman's A Choice to Forgive. However the other two novellas were thin on characterization and story line and I was quite disappointed in the listen.
The narrator was mediocre at best and mispronounced many words. The ratings on audible.com are low (3's) because of the two novellas that were lacking and because of the poor narration. However, two of the stories were strong. Kelly Long's novella was definitely worth reading on its own. A strong character, an Amish midwife, Anna Stollis, falls for an equally strong handsome and capable young man, Asa Mast, as they go about delivering babies one stormy Christmas night. The hero and heroine are in their late twenties.
Kelly Marie Long is one of my new favorite authors. She really knows how to craft believable characters and her romances are the best around. Grab this book and curl up by the fire for a great read as Anna and Asa bring new life into the world while beginning their own lives together!
Enjoyed until the last book, it's lacking
If you could sum up An Amish Christmas in three words, what would they be?
    good but not best
Would you be willing to try another book from the authors? Why or why not?
All the authors were good except the last one, after listening & reading really good writers of Amish literature you just expect more, realistic, true to life writings.
Have you listened to any of Christian Taylors other performances before? How does this one compare?
She was good, and this was my first listen of her I think.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    Come live with the Amish
    Any additional comments?
Gave it 4 stars because the first 3 books were really good in the collections, the last one was really lacking, had to trudge through it all the time thinking it would be better. The first one are defiantly worth listening to.
    Cut the background music
Couldn't stand the background music at the last part of the books. It's too loud and very distracting.
