    Publisher's Summary:
They've helped orchestrate the perfect day for countless couples. Now 12 new couples will find themselves in the wedding spotlight in the second Year of Weddings novella collection.
When image becomes everything, it's up to love to refocus the heart. Photographer Jenna Harrison wants every bride and groom to look picture perfect on their special day, putting her heart into every wedding to give the couple memorable images of their love. But her own heart is still broken, the unworn wedding dress hanging in her closet a reminder that relationships aren't always as perfect as they look through her camera lens. But Jenna has faith that she will find true love. Until then, she must be patient and trust in God's plan and His perfect timing.
Attorney Ashton Vance is the one that got away. When an embarrassing Photoshopped picture put an end to his political aspirations, he blamed Jenna. So what if the photo led to his being offered a dream job and changing his life for the better? Jenna betrayed his trust, and two years later, Ashton's heart still hasn't recovered.
It was me. His younger sister's three words turn Ashton's world upside down. He must ask Jenna's forgiveness, but can he risk his heart a second time? Even if Jenna can forgive him, dare he hope for a second chance at her love?
    Members Reviews:
    beautiful story
The last thing Jenna expected was her ex-fiance` showing up at her door two years after he broke off their engagement at the rehearsal. And Ashton's request for her to be the photographer at his sister's wedding was an even bigger surprise. Ashton revealed he learned the truth and was seeking forgiveness. Jenna let him known he was forgiven, but she still wasn't able to help him. After Jenna let him know the hardships she had faced over the past two years, he offered financial atonement. Needing the money, and knowing that perhaps this was something in God's Plan not-yet-revealed, Jenna reluctantly agreed, with a condition for Ashton to volunteer in her church's youth group activity.
Little by little, Ashton and Jenna kept being thrown together, and through that, forging a friendship. But, when an issue of trust comes up again, Jenna feels her heart tested. Once again, truth is revealed and Jenna and Ashton must learn that love isn't easy--sometimes it's messy, forgiveness must be complete and without reservation, and trusting God to help one find His Plan isn't easy, but it is necessary for a "picture perfect love."
This story reminds us how important it is to let God's Plan work through the messy stuff in life in order to find the long term love with a partner. Forgiveness and trust are as essential as love, and Walking in Faith will get each of us through anything. I highly recommend this beautifully written story!
    Inspirational and Sweet
Does everyone deserve a second or maybe even a third chance?
This is Ash and Jenna's story. I like how we get to explore both Ash and Jenna's thoughts and feelings.

You can dig your spurs into this one
I believe love at first sight happens often, but Spurred by Fate is not about love at first sight, itâs about six months later. After saving her heart from being roped by Hank McGraw, a Colorado Cowboy, Natalie Fontana, a New York City Marketing Executive, is lost and at her wits end, when sheâs forced to call on that same green-eyed cowboy to save her and make the agencyâs largest client happy. An inferno forces Hank and Natalie to face each other, and face their selves.
Another winner by Kari Lee Harmon
This was short story and yet I didn't fell it was rushed or the characters not fleshed out at all. This is a challenge that I feel Kai Lee Harmon handled really well. And applauded her on her efforts and I will continue to pick up her next book.

Every year, on the same night in November, a bouquet of flowers, a vintage bottle of wine, and a handwritten note appear next to a small wooden cross on the side of a lonely country highway. Year after year, it's the same offering at the same time. On his way home from work at the factory, Tom notices these roadside tributes and wonders who the mysterious mourner might be. Despite warnings from a superstitious friend, Tom stakes out the area to see who it is that comes to this remote place along the highway. But he quickly discovers that some mysteries are better left unsolved, and sometimes the dead must mourn their own.

You will never look roadside crosses the sameway after reading this...
Bought this for $1 and finished reading this within 10 minutes. The story takes place across the same day every year over many years and is about a guy who comes across a roadside cross one day and then over the years notices that someone has placed a bottle of liquor and a card on it. Determined to find out who left it and against the advice of his friend, he starts staking out the cross every year until he find out who left it.
It is a short story and I do not want to spoil the ending but for a $1 it is worth the read. It is nothing mind-blowing and will not leave you thinking about the book after you finish it but it is a decent story for the price.
    Notes:
    Worth The Money: Yes
    Would I Recommend It: Yes
This is one of the most beautiful pieces I've read in a long time
This is one of the most beautiful pieces I've read in a long time. Weller writes this genre piece and cracks right through that ceiling of stigmatization that genre fiction is somehow less that literary. The protagonist of this story is a fully developed person, and we see his thoughts, feelings, emotions, and anxieties as tension builds in the story. There's also an element of romance tied into what could be considered a ghost story by some, but beyond a bit of playing with my brain and making me really think about things like afterlife, ghosts, spirituality, and other things, I didn't think it was particularly scary. However, I think most good scary stories are those that challenge your brain's anxiety level, suspense, and intellect throughout the piece rather than hashing out blood and guts. I highly recommend this story.
    A Haunting Tale
No amount of creative wordsmithing can do "Roadside Cross" justice quite like the facts around my having read it:
I refused for years to own an eReader, yet I bought a Kindle just for this story. Yes, Sam Weller's past work is that good.
If I never use the Kindle to read another thing, it was still worth every cent. Yes, this story is that good.
As soon as I finished reading it, I read it again aloud to my wife. This story is going to be on our regular read-again list.
Weller is one of the best storytellers writing today, and "Roadside Cross" is a prime example of why.
Best Sam Weller Fiction So Far
"Roadside Cross" is a story that means something. It is a wonderful, chilling ghost story to be sure, it is also deeply human. His best story yet once again accomplishes what his other contributions this genre do - they draw you in contemplating the character, and they escort you out contemplating yourself.

Murder 1: The Perfect Murder, George
Surrounded by the reminders of how social networking is changing relationships, George is left to make a decision which is life changing. In his 60s and tired of the way that people bury themselves in a false world, behind the anonymity of computer screens, George decides to take action.
Will the murder be the perfect murder? Will he leave no trace of his actions? This is a case of unplanned victory. As his wife Vera finds her end, George has to live with what he has done. A perfect murder leaves no real trace. A perfect murder leaves no regrets. How will a man in his senior years fight back against the perils of Facebook?
In this audiobook, George Stringer is confronted by choices, put there by chance, and commits the perfect murder, a murder with few consequences and little regret. Will this gentle soul be suspected? Or does he have the answer to committing the perfect crime?
Murder 2: The Perfect Murder, Lisa's Fate
When life seems to be going nowhere and your relationship is decidedly dodgy, how do you move forward?
This was the dilemma which faced Lisa and Nigel. Lisa, with a past that haunts her, seems to be lost in her own world, while Nigel is trying to get her to snap out of it. He doesn't know the secrets of her past. All he does know is that she has plans and that they don't include him. Anger, jealousy, and perhaps pride play in what happens during this story.
Follow the path of the relationship between them and find out what happens. It's a story that could happen to anyone, though it's probably a good thing that most listeners will have more common sense than to believe stories told to them by postings on Facebook. How does this come into the story? Listen to it and you will find the answers.

    MURDER "The Perfect Murder"
It was a good read. I enjoyed the vignettes and the characters. It did not hold my complete attention as it was a bit predicable. However, again; it was a pleasant read
    The myseterious ways.
Was a really great book love the suspense it gave me and suggest to all who love the mysteries. The book has really brought my attention to how murder is, and how much it can impact your physiology. It gave me a cold warmth feeling inside, and super happy that I gave it a chance, it's the type you can't put down because you wanna see what happens next.
    A murder on its head!
I really wanted something different but dark, and turned to horror. I love a good mystery, and this one really turns the idea of an unsolved murder on its head. I am pleased I chose this book to break away from my usual monotony, it has been a roller coaster and has truly kept my attention. I needed something to peak my interest.
Brilliant plot, Brilliant book, very good mystery in it.
This book is amazing, I like a good old murder mystery type book so I decided to buy it for myself. It has a really interesting plot and the characters make the story really quite the read. It's very suspense and makes you want to read on, the mystery is very original and just truly an amazing and interesting book to read. Would recommend to family.
On the edge of my seat
I've always been a big fan of murder mysteries and horror stories. This was gripping to read and I wound up stuck to my seat for hours on end. I have always enjoyed Stephen King and I must say if you like his books you will love this.

    Publisher's Summary:
From one of the most popular and acclaimed story writers of her generation, a single-volume short story.
"That the yellow house was thrillingly affordable might have been a warning sign if Eleanor had known how to read it. But she'd been desperate. She was sharing a room with her four-year-old daughter, Hattie, in her parents' house, and she had to get out."
From the award-winning novelist and short story writer Maile Meloy, Devotion: A Rat Story is an exquisitely unsettling tale about a young single mother whose new home becomes a kind of nightmare she must resolve on her own.
Eleanor is in such a rush to move away from her parents that she allows an imperious realtor to rush her to close on the too-good-to-be-true home without an inspection. Shortly after the house becomes legally hers - with every cent and all of her pride and future tied up in the property - the giant rats show themselves. In the yard, in the kitchen, on her daughter's bed. A walk around the block reveals a decrepit neighboring house where two elderly sisters are feeding and fostering thousands of unusual "pets". What has Eleanor done? What action can she possibly take now?
In Meloy's characteristically clean, assured style, she captures the hopes and horrors of domestic life with an element of suspense that drives the listener feverishly to the end.
    Members Reviews:
    What?
Would you try another book from Maile Meloy and/or Cassandra Campbell?
Well, first this has to be the dumbest book I have ever purchased. Second, I thought I was buying a full book and not a short story so when it ended in the middle of the crisis for no reason, I almost laughed. Don't bother spending money on this one. I'll give you the cliff notes. "Lots of rats with a story that doesn't end." the end
An hour of perfectly chosen words
I've underestimated the power of the short story! Maile Meloy has combined imagery with suspense to make magic out of a tale that might be right under your own nose. Cassandra Campbell is one of my favorite narrators with the perfect cadence of a storyteller for the adult in all of us grownup kids.

    Something for everyone
What made the experience of listening to Last Night While You Were Sleeping the most enjoyable?
The short stories were well thought out and put together. The Narrator spoke clearly and was easy to hear.
Who was your favorite character and why?
There isn't just one. The stories that left the deepest impressions were Merielle 1 &2 I had read part one before and it broke the Creep-O-Meter it was nice to get the rest of the story. Order In I makes you think of the possibility of souls going into the wrong shell of a body,Obachan a nice take on an old folklore of a grandmother and child. and Michelle's take on Bloody Mary, because it was unique that it took you further into what it must be like for Bloody Mary herself.
Have you listened to any of Neil Holmess other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not that I remember. He did an excellent job at Narrating.
Who was the most memorable character of Last Night While You Were Sleeping and why?
I think the Author herself. She has such insight into the human condition to invoke feeling for each character she writes about.
    Any additional comments?
This book has something for everyone.I also liked the Author's comments at the end of the book.

    Cute story
This was a cute story. Nicely written and narrated well. I liked it. It had great characters and a lovely little romance.
Things Are Not As They Appear!
The Sweetest Surprise was a sweet, short contemporary story written by Augusta Hill. This story was enjoyable and I honestly don't like contemporary romance but I wish this story had been longer because I most definitely would've listened to a full length novel of this novella. It's a warm, pleasing, and a feel good type of story.
Paul Cram did a great job with his narration but he could use some work on his female accents/voices. I felt the female characters sounded too manly, when they should've sounded feminine. I think with some work on his female vocals that he will become a very talented narrator. Overall, I gave it 4 stars because of the narrator, as for the story it gets 5 stars.
I received this audio at no charge from the author/narrator in exchange for an honest and unbiased review through Audiobook Blast.
A Nice, Clean Surprise of a Story
"The Sweetest Surprise" was a super neat and clean short story. I think there may be a moral to the story as well about misinterpretations and misunderstandings. It seems that Emily saw that things were somewhat out of place and she naturally gravitated towards thinking in a negative way.
This is where the surprise comes in. As I was listening and whenever Emily found out the truth, I was just as surprised. And happy. I thought it was fun. What a wonderful surprise indeed. I really liked this story by Augusta Hill and hope to hear more from her in the future.
Paul Cram did a great job narrating the story. He had a super nice voice that I could listen to all day. He kept a good pace and had spot on voice inflections. This was a good combination of author/narrator and a neat story.
"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."
    Feel good short romance
--I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review
I really liked this short story. It is a feel good, warm fuzzy feeling love story. Emily, an insecure young woman is feeling that her hunk of a boyfriend, Jason is pulling away from her and she will end up being dumped. She is in for the surprise of her life. The most romantic scene with Jason too...what a sweet talking man!
Paul Cram did a wonderful job narrating this book. If you are looking for a good book to get you in a great mood on the way to work, this is for you!

    Members Reviews:
Original and fun style. Slightly short in length.
It takes a short while to get used to the particular style of this book, which relies heavily on documenting the electronic exchanges between two or more characters at a time. It feels like a play at times, yet unlike a play, there are wide gaps of knowledge in-between conversations which you have to fill up with your imagination, a sometimes difficult, but for the most part highly enjoyable challenge. There are a few parts which are "regular" prose, and they serve well into framing the situations and giving really good insights into what the main character is experiencing. Meanwhile, the rest of the electronic exchanges follow a sort of sit-com method of explanation about who did what and when, and then reacting towards it. It's a very original concept for an novel, difficult at first, but highly fun and witty by the end, albeit a little too "quick" for me. Because electronic dialogue is sparse and straight to the point, the author is able to transverse long stretches with few words, and so you're able to read the story in a very short amount of time. And while all the knots and plot points are neatly knitted by the end, I would have liked this experience to last a bit longer. Yet perhaps that was not the intent of the author in any case.
As for the characters and plot, the story feels at times a bit... simplistic. I'm sure this kind of conflict between friends and lovers has been explored in length before. So do not expect big surprises there. The characters are all very relatable and enjoyable, especially Emily who's struggle to understand her mistakes and how to deal with them strikes very close to home to me. Nonetheless, they suffer a similar symptom as the story in that they're not strikingly unique compared to other narratives.
And perhaps that's all part of the aim of the book, which has a sort of larger meta-commentary about clichés in relationship struggles. Emily herself has this keen self-awareness about how she's not special or that her conflicts are not particularly unique. She frames her life around the tropes of romantic movies and gets frustrated when reality doesn't matches the screen. The author makes a very interesting commentary on how life needs to be lived one moment at a time, how it lacks shortcuts or montages to fast-forward through a breakup recovery, and how wisdom is not acquired after some single epiphany but rather is discovered in retrospect.
So in conclusion, I would say that Text/Chat/Email is a book strong in narrative style and meta-commentaries. Do not expect to find movie-material in here regarding originality. Rather, expect laughs and warm grins followed by sudden realizations while opening the fridge's door.
    Quick and funny read
I really enjoyed this book! It's fast paced, easy to get through, and a lot of fun (I seriously read it in two sittings).
