My Thoughts on Alpha Squad: Infiltrator

This was a paranormal/shifter romance that while a short story in length it packed in a lot into a little.

Thomas, a wolf shifter, was assigned to alpha squad by his alpha, but while his orders may be clear, the motives are not and increasingly, neither is his conscience. Not to mention he wasn't planning on Jill, a woman he can't stop thinking about and who suddenly seems to notice him too. It just happens to be at the worst time.

Jill had been trying to ignore and work through her interest in Thomas, but lately she seemed to be the only one noticing his odd behavior. Realizing the cause may put them at odds, but it doesn't mean it will make their growing feelings go away.

So this was a sweet romance for me and it had quite a bit going on. There was some suspense and intriguing, there was the attraction between the main characters, there were bad and good guys. And there were wolf shifters. I love a good shifter book. And this story did a good job of holding my attention with it's twists and turn of events. If it had been longer I would have enjoyed seeing more development of the relationship vs the insta-love vibe. I also would have liked seeing more time spent discussing and learning more of Thomas's wolf side.

The narrator did a good job with the different accents and had great distinction between male and female.

A Great Alpha Squad Addition

Out of all the books in this series that I have listened to, this one seemed to go by the fastest. It certainly makes my day more enjoyable when the office is too quiet because it's just me. It's also nice have this to listen to on my commute to and from work - and when I get caught in a traffic jam.

This second book in the Fatal Allure series was marred by some very poor editing that was a real distraction from the story. Plot was a bit tired and left not much in the way of keeping up the suspense. Had hoped to see how Amy's growing powers would affect her job skills. Felt like this book could have been so much more.

Vincent and Amy and Damon - who will it be?

Amy is now a witch, Damon is a vampire hunter, and Vincent is a vampire. Amy finds herself in love with them both. She is always getting into trouble and having to save them, or having them save her. It's a bumpy ride for them all this time. Full of energy, mystery and romance, it's a great book. I can't wait to read the next installment.

Great 2nd book.

I received the first book for honest review. I love that book. I received this book through Kindle Unlimited. This book was even better!!! Once again Amy is thrown for some hard punches and you don't know what will become of them. She is a fighter and love how much things keep change and keep you on the edge of your seat. Can't wait to read 3rd book.

Humor, Emotion, & Wit - Another Win for St. Aubin!

Once again, Cynthia St. Aubin is able to marry the absurdity of events with unexpected emotional depth.

On the surface, this is a post-script chapter to the Disordered series; one more crazy supernatural patient to twist our post-partum doctor in the winds of her own psyche. As a faithful reader of the series, (and admittedly, fervently Team Crixus! MatiXus 4evah!) I loved this nod to those of us that wondered, "What if...?"

The HEA we all imagined met with the reality of day to day life of a married couple. Matilda and Liam have their share of frustrations balancing life with work - natural / supernatural therapist and hit-man-with-a-conscience, respectively. Add a toddler to the mix, and Dr. Schmidt's frustration, resentment and lowered self-image become relatable. Doesn't everyone wonder if the choices they've made are the right ones, especially in moments of self-doubt?

Short but unerringly sweet, and funny on levels ranging from slapstick and sarcasm to wry and thoughtful, this glimpse into Dr. Schmidt's version of "What if...?" carries all the hallmarks of the previous books. The same strings that tug on your heart pull your lips into a grin, and yank a laugh from your core. St. Aubin's effortless prose brings every scene a depth of mental images that feel like you're watching in Hi-Def 3D (is that a thing?).

In a world of run-of-the-mill supernatural beings, St. Aubin once again presents us with a surprise. Her signature character-cum-plot-device who is mysterious, yet oddly whole, blends science theory with fantasy in deft exposition that doesn't leave your mouth dry and your brain twitching. It does, however, cleverly offer Dr. Schmidt an opportunity she's not given a chance to pass up.

For reasons of personal character fandom, it did make me a little sad, but that is all my own, and has nothing to do with the quality of the work.

I love this series for it's masterful blend of humor, emotion, and intelligence. And I'm happy to say, this book didn't disappoint!

Another hit!

Cynthia St. Aubin has done it again. Another hit! She never fails to put the perfect words to paper, allowing readers to experience what it's like to be in Matilda's world. Cynthia's wicked sense of the absurd will have readers laughing time and again. Brilliant mind, brilliant writing.

Definitely YES!!!! I love this author and this series. I have read the series and am now listening to it. The narrator does a great job of "being" Zelda.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Mark and Zelda and well Zelda's dad too. Zelda is so funny, Mark is a sweetheart and her dad well who doesn't love a dad who loves his daughter.

What does Sonja Field bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Her voice makes me really see each character but especially Zelda. She just seems like she is Zelda.

Great listen!

Loved the story and the characters. Darcy has been through a lot and Ross is just what she needs. Fantastic narrator. Highly recommend if you are looking for a medium length shifter read. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

I so lived this story!!!!

It's black Hills wolves how can you not love it.

Ross and Darcy make one hell of a couple.

Fast paced story with really interesting characters and lots of anguishe and action this book is a great addition to the series.

Further more this book is hot hot hot.

I really enjoyed listening to it and the narrator was amazing besides a few moments that I felt that Darcy was to my ears very child like.

I was given an advance listeners copy by the author in exchange for an honest review and this is it..

3.5* - simple and sweet shapeshifter romance

3.5* for the story and 4.5* for the narration

The narration was great, no major complaints. I gave the story between three and four stars. It was a simple and sweet shapeshifter romance. The hero is a very nice, honourable shifter. The heroine is gorgeous. They fall in insta-love. The major tension is resolved with head-scratching ease. Some menacing bad guys popped onto the scene towards the end of the book, but they're defeated pretty much instantly and become insta-loyal to the heroine. And the couple live happily ever after. Simple, sweet, easy read with some spicy scenes added. It was forgettable but not regrettable - it reminded me of many hours spent reading Mills & Boon/ Harlequin/ Silhouette novels during the 80s and 90s (but featuring shapeshifters and more saucy romantic scenes). Speaking of saucy romantic scenes, there was a scene in this story where the couple tussled on a kitchen surface and sent a laptop crashing to the floor. In the book, the laptop survived without a scratch. I've had a laptop fall off an 18" coffee table and the carnage done to the screen made my stomach lurch with dread. The characters ignored their laptop crash - which made the story suddenly unrealistic and unbelievable to me! ;)

Its a letter that was from her father whom had the foresight to write before his death. It leads her to her mate and help for her shifting problem. She finds so much more than that there.

This moves at a good pace and its an endearing story.

Twisted for sure

Just when you think you are going to start getting the truth. Bam! More twists, more lies and more confusion. The author really knows How to write a mystery. He keeps you intrigued with Mila and all the lies she is feed. Who is really her friend? I have to wait for the next book to find out

New Fan

This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I read a lot and sometimes books and storylines start to blend together into a grey mush of predictable, boring and long winded. I literally got chills reading the first few pages of this book because I knew I'd found something very special, something that rose above the droning din of blah.This book is unique, funny and the main character is relatable and becomes real to the reader. I have found myself a new favorite author. My husband isn't a reader but I woke him up and submitted to scratching his back for the next twenty minutes so he'd stay awake long enough for me to tell him about this book. Get cracken' girl, you have a new fan.

Zany, Sizzling, Romantic Comedy!

Lucy Ashcroft, RN reluctantly returns to her small hometown to help her eccentric and motorcycle jacket, leopard leggings, pink feather boa wearing Gran who needs a hand. Lucy has a gift, one that earned her the nick name "The Ghost Gabber" from the mean girls. She sees dead people, lots of them, including her garrulous Grandpa who is waiting for Gran to go into the light.

To Lucy's chagrin, Darla Swithers, one of those mean girls has appeared in her afterlife form on top of Gran's refrigerator. A pain in the neck in life, Darla has become a pain in a lower region in her afterlife. Add in the sizzling chemistry between Jackson and you have a fun romance to entertain you and keep you chuckling long after you close your e-reader or print book. Highly recommend.

This was a fun paranormal romance with a lot of laughs and snark, but it was so much more. At the heart of Lucy and Jackson's story are some deep messages about learning to accept who you are and letting down your guard to allow yourself to fall in love. This book also addresses bullying.
