Absolutely Nauseating

I always feel badly whenever I pan a book. I know what kind of effort and focus it takes to create one, and I don't envy the task this author has set for herself. Regrettably, though, this book has very little content, presented at length in a borderline offensive way.

I can sum up the content as I see it in a few short sentences: all women are the same, and everything they do that annoys you men (again, who are all the same), they do for love. I am not kidding, this idea comes up every three minutes, and even the word 'love' is always breathed in the most reverent My Little Pony voice you can imagine. Rather than discussion, communication, and compromise, men are told instead to understand and consciously manipulate the feelings of the women they love. We are shown how to craft the finest veneer we can with the least effort.

Women, meanwhile, are given not the message of "you're not really insecure and neurotic" or even the less committal "well, you are but you can fix it with your mate's help," but rather the bizarre message of "everything you think is insecure and neurotic really isn't, which is a good thing because you can't help it anyway."

So women, if you want to feel completely stereotyped and fade back into Victorian times, and men if you want to have all your feelings and needs and desires trivialized, mocked, and displaced in favor of rank emotional manipulation, this book is perfect for you.

An insult to emotionally intelligent men.

I bought this audio book in the hope that it would help to improve my already great relationships with women generally. As one of those men who might have been called an "emotional block of stone" some years ago I had already done a lot of work to become "emotionally intelligent" and to understand what women want.

What I found in this audio book was the narrator "talking down" to men in general, as if they were second class citizens. The audio book inferred that women have all of the emotional intelligence and that men have very little or none.

Its a real shame that a book like this didn't give men at least some credit for what they have been doing over past years to be worthwhile partners and contributors in relationships. After all, if men had known years ago what is was that they were supposed to do to further assist the ones they love, it is reasonable to assume that they would have done exactly that then instead of over the past few years.

It seems that the author might have been so busy listening to her own head and then writing down what she thinks is "the answer" rather than going out and finding out whats really been going on while she has been asleep.

My Assessment - Not worth listening too.

Where did she get these conclusions!?

The author starts out saying that the purpose is not to "slam" men .. but then spends almost the entire book doing just that. Her arguments are ludicrous and her conclusions just plain wrong. Here is a summary: Men are stupid because they only think with their little head, but it's ok because we can be reprogrammed. Women are allowed to be unfocused because they are genetically designed as such. Men need to read minds (which we can't do because we are just plain stupid).

This author helped me understand that our sexuality is part of our normal psychology. This runs counter to the taboos with which my generation was raised. He goes back to the Greek pa theology as well as modern Theologies to show beauty in creation.

The book beautifully touches the ageless heart and soul.

Thomas Moore weaves a beautiful picture of human sexuality that goes beyond and through the crude and shallow side show billing that sexuality seems to carry today. I enjoyed reading this book from cover to cover.

Time well spent

Without a lot of Mars and Venus talk, John presents information about the way men and women view sex, that are helpful to dispel common areas of misunderstanding. I am not a big fan of lumping all women and men together into two groups and making generalizations, but some of the insights were new and very helpful. This is a presentation that everyone would love to know their partner had listened to, as it increases one's motivation to be more understanding and proficient. Basic techniques were discussed in a non-salacious fashion.

Gray basis his writing on feedback on thousands of men and women, and although his ideas do not apply to every couple, they do provide a good foundation for lovers to understand each other.

A must read for any married couple

We listened to this book on a weekend retreat. I has increased or love and understanding of each other. My husband loved it because I no longer feel pressure in sex. And I loved it because now he takes out the trash with out me asking him to.

Good information gives a vocabulary to use

This book isn't well written or narrated since it was read by the author. However, the basis for good communication is having a common vocabulary to use as you discuss topics and this book does that.

Sexual fulfillment is a hard topic to discuss since we as a society don't grow up talking about how to sexually fulfill the opposite sex. Typically we get negative or bad information from movies, books, magazines, etc. This book takes a general view of innate needs for men and women to be sexually fulfilled.

The concept/vocabulary of using food, i.e. fast food sex (quickies), comfort food sex, and gourmet food sex, is a great way to discuss w/your partner needs, wants, desires to ultimately understand how to sexually fulfill each other.

Its a quick listen, and if you and your partner listen together, I would almost guarantee you will have conversations like you have not had prior to listening to the book.

IF ONLY I COULD I would give it a 10

This was a VERY good book if you as a male would like to learn techniques to last until you want to stop, or if you are a female that wants to learn techniques to help make and or teach your man to last until you both want to stop then this is so very much the book for you. But you have to lesson because she does go fast and just lays all the info right there, it's up to you to pick it up and do what you will with it. She gives you great and fun things to do both as a single male or as a couple and a few ideas as to what the females can do to help in general. Over all EXCELENT book if I could give this book a 10 I would!!!!!

Misleading

So this title is called How to Make Love All Night but the majority of the 90 minutes is spent talking about multiple orgasms.?. This seems like a seperate issue to me. With that said, the book was educational but I'd have to listen to it again to actually gain anything out of it and think I would need my partner to listen to it as well. Just too many instructions (and levels) to follow without actually partaking while listening. The narrator is very boring too, making this a difficult listen despite how short it is.

The advice is great if you stick to it!

I attempted the advice in this book and it works well enough, but you really have to keep doing the exercises to see results and sometimes it takes a little while. I have a hard time keeping up the routine (no pun intended), but that's just me.

surprisingly clever and insightful

I found this book while randomly browsing Amazon's arsenal. Although very skeptical at first, I gave it a try (it wasnt not too expensive anyway) and was very surprised how insightful this book is. It is based on serious research facts and obviously a lot of experience in this topic. I have been using the taught techniques for a while now and have noticed real significant changes in how my body functions during sex. It is not a fast and dirty trick however - it is rather a guide and "training" book that requires some motivation. One will have to practice regularly (isn't that a nice excuse?!), but in my case the results were definitely more than worth the training and definitely worth the few bucks!!

This book is for any person interested in increasing their abilities as a lover. It is a wonderful guide but not a quick fix. The fun thing is how engaging the material is. Its like the book says, if you want to become a better lover you have to practice practice practice! I don't regret reading this book , in fact I will reread this as i continue to learn.

Ive heard of the Kama Sutra my entire life but never read it. It is a guide to help others fulfill their desires while pleasing their partner. It discusses the history of the book and the origins of the Kama Sutras theology. With the help of the book, readers can learn to fill their senses, develop a greater intimacy, and expand their sexual pleasure. Highly recommend it.

Good listen

Okay I'm a prude. I just am. I actually enjoyed this though. Okay so I think it was the last five minutes or so of chapter 9 (It's hard to keep track on an audio book for me anyway) when I went "next chapter".

This was a good listen though. It didn't make me super squirmy and the narrator had the right voice.
