Christmas is upon us and Covid is fading away as I sit down to talk to the good people at Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Museum and Discoverymap.com. Honestly, with a map and a good light source you can see your way out of troubling times so let's not waste any of it and listen to Sherry, Zach and John as the show us the way.

This episode is dedicated to the gem to the west of Daytona Beach known as Deland, FL. I interview JT Thompson from the Stetson Mansion and I also speak with Larry and Robin French from Great Tasting Tours. Doug Canney joins me to discuss local comedy shows and we learn that his father was, well, never mind you’ll learn more after you listen. Join me on my journey west as we explore the house that a hatter built and eat and drink until we have to loosen our belts. ‘Tis the season. Bon Appetit!

This week I am recovered from whatever was ailing me enough to get back on the drop and drop some wisdom on you. I Introduce (Let's Go) Brandon Letourneau who will be my "Man on the Street"; I will now have someone I can put in harm's way for the glory of the show and to add content for www.downtimeindaytona.com. I also have the pleasure of introducing Ashley Zalkin with the Streamline Hotel and Sky Bar.

Michelle Lamb from Fun Coast Food Tours talks to me about how they plan to teach visitors about the great tastes of the town in Ormond Beach. Later I get a call from Sue at the Casements, the winter home of the late John D. Rockefeller.

This week, Doug Canney and I go down the rabbit hole with Rauce Padgett, a professional touring comic who co-hosts the Jim Colbert Show on Orlando’s Real Radio 104.1; we discuss Rauce being pulled over by the police and being attacked by a police dog (actually 2 separate occasions, one of which he literally asked for). After we call the most haunted house in Daytona, Lillian Place and learn that Doug lives in fear. Question; where would you rather be stranded? Ocala or Homosassa?

This episode I introduce and interview a person I will be entering into a joint venture with and will also have sitting in over the next couple of weeks, Doug Canney. Doug is a nationally touring comedian you may have seen on HBO, NBC, and the WB, he plans to launch a podcast of his own that will quickly outperform mine, but now I can say “I knew him back in the day” and he will be forced to invite me to sit in on his pod. Also, see how I try to turn a rival into an ally, wish me luck.

Is Florida part of the south? Sure it's in the south, but is it part of the south? Let's take a closer look at some of the food and music that comes out of the south, I mean Florida, with two great cooks in Ormond Beach; Lee Buckner with Southern State of Mind Food Truck and Patrick LeFils with Southern Fellow. These innovators have made a same in their respective fields that is to be admired, but are these southern gentlemen actually in the south? I'll let you decide.
