"I can't believe I just said that." If we are honest, we have all either said this before or at least thought it. Perhaps we might have said something that we wish we could either take back or say differently. Have you ever wondered why we all struggle with this? Where does this issue come from? Is it possible to ever truly bring our words under control, if so then how? As we continue our study in the letter of James, we are going to see how real faith goes to work in our hearts, creating significant alterations to the way in which we speak to others. I hope you are able to join us for this Sunday.

Work... When you hear the word work, what type of emotions do you experience? Do you immediately feel a sense of internal anxiety? Do you feel a sense of exhaustion or discouragement?

Work was designed by God to be a gift to humanity, to provide a sense of fulfilment and worship. But when sin entered the world, God's design for work was fractured. What once brought life and joy now often is the source for stress and unhealthiness. However, when Jesus entered the world, He turned back the curse of sin and began the work of redemption. Part of His redeeming work is the redemption of work itself.

This week, James is going to teach us that saving faith in Jesus is evidenced by a renewed desire for work. But not just any work, rather, a desire to do the work of our Father. Join us this Sunday as we continue to learn about the transforming effects of real faith in Christ.
