Four things child dedication does:

I. Child dedication acknowledges and celebrates new human life as God’s gift.

II. Child dedication follows the precedent of the Old Testament as an appropriate act of submission and worship.

III. Child dedication reminds parents of their spiritual responsibility for their child.

IV. Child dedication asks God for his willing blessing and help.

Local church membership is biblical, and is valuable—to both the local church and the individual Christian.

In his majestic power, God is faithful to both judge evil and save his people. Therefore, we can joyfully wait for his justice, no matter how bad things get.

In proclaiming woes on the Chaldeans, God shows the consequences of sin, the certainty of his justice, and the triumph of his glory.

When we’re confused by God and his ways, he calls us to humble, persistent faith in him.

It may seem like evil triumphs, but God WILL act, in his way and in his time.

In times of trouble, take confident refuge in God!

I. David’s situation: adversity leading to spiritual dryness.

II. David’s remedy: seeking God.

III. David’s source of confidence: God’s character.

IV. David’s hope: renewed satisfaction and joy.
