Holy F'n S---, Batman! Another accidental six month break?!? Apologies, loyal listeners (who we can no longer call our "dirty dozen" since different analytics indicate there might be many more of you out there than we realized). Moving on, in this episode we discuss the accidental break, potential future plans, comic book related current events, and the Avengers vs. X-Men vs. Eternals crossover event (with a minor digression into the world of professional wrestling). We had fun talking about it, maybe you will enjoy listening to it.

(Something I noticed recently... all of my favorite punk musicians who taught me in their lyrical content to question authority and resist the capitalist system of exploitation have houses/property... and at this point many have businesses or other ventures for making additional money outside of the band... a good number of them are millionaires... and unlike Wesley Snipes and the Situation there are no rumblings about tax avoidant behaviors, so they must be participating in the tribute to the governing authority portion of the capitalist system of exploitation... punk's not dead, it's a living genre filled with gaslighters and the droogs who aspire to their station... but I'm still going to listen to NOFX on my drive home from work today)
As I attempt to read through the entire Secret Wars event of 2015, we decided to hold off on another installment of Cable & Deadpool to bring you a conversation about the Deadpool 3 announcement, She-Hulk, James Gunn and the DCU, and Halloween Ends (among other things). Thank you to our dedicated dozen of fans, this one (like all of our episodes) is for you!!

(If each of our dozen listeners told a friend about our podcast, and each of those people told a friend, and each of those people told a friend... we would probably still have about a dozen listeners. Love you guys!!)
We once again regale you with our take on comic book news that is somewhere between three weeks and a month out of date. This time, we discuss the completely underwhelming Thunderbolts team reveal that nobody cares about at the time of the episode release. Then we return to "As the Domino Rolls" (AKA Cable & Deadpool issue 29, "The Domino Principle, Part II: The Politics of Fear"), the soap opera surrounding the negotiations between Cable, the Ultimatum Guard, and the Rumeki Resistance Movement. Not as in the political drama of watching Cable annex the first colony of Providence, this is a half Deadpool comic!! Also, Domino does a lot of standing around and staring at Cable. Then we have "Five Takeaways from Mutant X", where we discuss the title that ran from 1998-2001 where Alex Summers finds himself in an alternate dimension where stuff is supposed to be "darker", but it's really just a slightly different version of the same.
Coming up: Cable and Deadpool participate in the superhero civil war of 2006-2007 and Five Takeaways from 2015's Secret Wars.

(Much like this podcast, Mutant X is the type of comic you give to a person to passive aggressively tell them you're mad at them.)
In the wake of the cancellation of the Batgirl movie, we had a recorded conversation about that event and what it might mean for the fate of the Flash (the movie, not the tv show... although I think we talked about the cancellation of the tv show too). Something like two days after we recorded, the news broke that Ezra Miller had issued apologies for his behavior and was meeting with WB executives about next steps. So while we had both pretty much thought that the Flash would be going the way of Batgirl, apparently we were wrong (which makes large portions of this recording pretty much irrelevant). You may listen if you like the dulcet sounds of our sweet voices, but that warning is out there. We'll be back in September with the next installment of Cable's efforts to build an empire and five takeaways from Havok's Mutant X series. We hope to see you then!!

(Happy Back to School!! Maybe tell your teacher about this podcast after they give you a bad grade - they'll get the hint)
In which we talk about stuff that was relevant about a month ago to the world of comic books (sorry - it's been a busy month, loyal listener). Don't worry, it's mostly discussion of Thor: Love and Thunder and Jake's general sermonizing about something relatively unimportant, so if you want to skip to the read through that's just fine with most of us here at Dp-I-Y. Then we get to the issue of the day - Cable & Deadpool issue 28: The Domino Principle part 1, "For King and Country" - and see how Domino's poor decision making skills lead to Cable having a baby colony to call his own! We close with five takeaways from the first Gorr the God-Butcher stories in the Thor comics (referring to "The God Butcher" from Thor: God of Thunder #1-5, "God Bomb" from Thor: God of Thunder #7-11, and the issue that comes in between but isn't officially a part of either story). How does movie Gorr differ from comic Gorr, and do we really think those differences are a bad thing? How is Gorr similar to one of Jake's favorite C-level heroes from DC comics? And how impactful was Gorr to the Thor comics of the last ten years, anyway? You'll have to listen to find out.

(Prank Idea - If someone is annoying you, don't ghost them. Instead, find any reason possible to send them a "thank you" card, like for directing you to that news article you had no interest in reading, and slip the name of the podcast into the card. If they give us one listen, they'll probably get the message.)
In which we discuss Moon Knight, the cancellation of Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow, and which of us has seen Dr. Strange by the time of recording (the other will see it soon, we promise). We walk through Cable & Deadpool issue 26 - "Blood of Apocalypse Prequel: Born Again Part 1 - With Eyes Closed"; the start of a story whose main purpose was to set up an event in a better selling title. We end with a discussion of the "Age of Konshu", talking about five takeaways from the Avengers (2018) story (issues 33-37).
