Dr. Louis Leakey hired three primatologists to study the great apes which at the time little was known. Dr. Jane Goodall for chimpanzees, the late Dr. Dian Fossey took the King Kong out of mountain gorillas, and Dr. Birute Galdikas to learn about orangutans. Steve Dale welcomes Dr. Galdikas to the show, she is responsible for most of what we know today about the orangutans, and talks about why they are disappearing at an alarming speed.
