One of the biggest challenges of our industry is, undoubtedly, ensuring successful food provision for the global population while incorporating more sustainable practices. To achieve its goals, the swine industry must reshape and adapt itself – and technology is available to help us get there. With that in mind, how should we approach feeding and raising pigs in the future? What changes are necessary within our sector? To answer these questions, I have a great conversation with Dr. Candido Pomar, who sheds light on these matters as well as shares his insights regarding our next steps as an industry and the implementation of environmentally friendly feed sources in the diets of pigs. Also, he emphasizes the importance of personalized nutrition for pigs to minimize nutrient wastage.
