Join me as I talk with Dr. Nicole Rogers about the differences between freestanding ER's, urgent cares and Hospital based ER's. The differences may surprise you. Hopefully this can help you make better health care decisions in an emergency!
The Surgery Guy discusses bariatric surgeries. A bit about the types of surgeries available and some important advice for patients considering surgery.
Had a chance to talk with an old friend Dr. Doug Cummings. In this episode Dr. Cummings gives his thoughts on reflux and reflux surgery, as well as perspectives on living and practicing in a small town.
I had a nice sit down with myself after polling some of my doctor friends about their frustrations. Not sure I had any real answers, but I feel better. I hope you will too!
I had the Great Pleasure to sit down with Dr. Murray and discuss our common interest of minimally invasive reflux treatment and the TIF procedure. I found the conversation very interesting as while we have common goals and perspectives our approaches differ slightly. One of my favorite parts of this forum is the ability to learn from my guests, improve my own care and hopefully my guest's as well.
A bit of a departure from the normal format. Dr. Cottrell speaks from the heart about end of life issues. Hopefully aimed at helping physicians in dealing with difficult issues in the terminal patient.
I attended a dinner a few years ago where Dr. Harkins spoke. He was and is passionate about comprehensive robotic surgical and really pushed my partner and I to broaden our robotic approach and develop an acute care robotic program of our own. In short he is an inspiration to me and a great speaker. It was a pleasure to sit down and chat about the past, present and future of robotic surgery.

Dr. Leeds and I were able to sit down in July 2020 to discuss some of the innovative approaches he employs as a quaternary care general surgeon. I met Dr. Leeds at a reflux conference a few years back. Since we are both in Dallas our paths have crossed over the years and he was kind enough to share his time to educate me and hopefully the audience about management of challenging surgical problems and give us his take on reflux surgery in 2020. Dr. Leeds has been lead investigator on numerous articles and is possibly THE world expert on managing fistulas with his endoscopic technique.

Dr. Ihde and I sat down in July to discuss reflux and the minimally invasive TIF procedure. He and I have known each other almost ten years. We used to host a journal club for other doctors interested in learning the TIF procedure. We had a great time catching up and discussing the past present and future of reflux surgery.
