The race to make a successful COVID-19 vaccine is well underway, however, the likely timetable for deployment is 14-18 months, or longer. Convalescent serum is using the virus neutralizing antibodies from recovered COVID-19 individuals and giving them to actively sick COVID-19 patients and those who may be at risk. Convalescent serum may be our best hope until we have a successful vaccine.
