This week on the CWC podcast, I sit down with Dr. David Rankin, Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Florida. Dr. Rankin is a board certified plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. We discuss explant surgery, breast implant illness,“capsules,” the rising number of explant surgeries over implant surgeries, and how plastic surgeons are adapting to this new need. We also talk about informed consent and the importance of disclosing all of the risks associated with breast implants, as well as the process and after effects of explanting.
