In this second portion of the message, Dr. Grier continues to unpack the purposes behind wilderness seasons in the life of the believer. We see that the requisite for God to grant us prosperity and wealth is the condition of our hearts. We also see how the New Testament and the life of Christ provide us with better and more complete promises than the Old Testament.

In Deuteronomy 8, the Israelites are poised to enter the Promised Land. Before they do, God has some reminders about His faithfulness during their wilderness season. We learn that often, our trials are meant to humble us–– to make God and His Word our #1 priority so that we'll be prepared for the prosperity of Promised Land.

Daniel was thrown into a foreign culture, given a new name, and ordered to live by a certain set of standards; and yet, in staying faithful to his God, he still remained on agreeable terms with the Babylonians. His life holds myriad lessons for believers, who are called to be in the world but not of the world.

In this second portion, we see that even leaders of the faith have conflict. Paul and Mark were able to reconcile, which shows us that there is always a chance to come back from conflict stronger than before.

In this episode, we see God's power and ability to move even in the darkest of circumstances. In fact, the darker the world, the greater the opportunity for his light to shine! We'll see this in the story of Saul becoming Paul.
