European Movement Ireland have launched a report, The Disinformation Landscape: Youth in Ireland and the EU, which examines how European authorities and civil society organisations are countering disinformation among young people and working to build resilience in communities. It explores some of the trends around disinformation and youth, in particular ‘Active Clubs’, a growing network of far-right activists across Europe with links to mixed martial arts (MMA). Adrianne speaks with Dr. Gillian Kennedy, EM Ireland’s Policy & Research Manager to talk about the frightening results of this research and how Ireland and other European authorities might try to counter disinformation among young people (especially young men who are joining these underground clubs).
