The FDA and Avanti Frozen Foods Private Ltd are recalling frozen, cooked, peeled, deveined shrimp sold under multiple brands including Censea, Hannaford, Open acres, Honest catch, COS, 365, and Meijer.  This shrimp is contaminated with salmonella.  This bacterium causes a serious and sometimes fatal gastroenteritis and sepsis that is particularly lethal in the young, elders, and those who are immunocompromised.  If you bought frozen shrimp from any of these outlets, do not consume it.  Return it to the point of purchase.  For more information, contact the company in India using an email [email protected].
