Rarely do I interview anyone more than once for this Hypnotic Gold series.

But when Gene Landrum came out with his thirteenth book – this one dealing with fear --

I had to get him back on the phone.

I did, too. He’s this month’s collectible Hypnotic Gold interview.

Gene will teach you about the fear that inhibits most people. For example: The driver

that dies in an accident isn't the one accelerates or brakes - it's the one that freezes and

doesn't move.

I was at a birthday party last December.

It was for me.

I turned 54. (Thank you, thank you.)

At the party a friend introduced me to a sexy woman who does business online. Turns out

The best book I read in 2007 was A Complaint Free World by Will Bowen.

It’s the incredible story of a man and his movement.

On July 23th 2006, Will Bowen's book created a movement that has influenced 5 million people so far,

including Oprah, Fox News, and the Today Show.

His 21 day challenge involves wearing a purple bracelet, and every time you complain you have to

switch it to the other wrist.

The goal is to make it 21 days without a single complaint.

Most people take six months to get there. (I haven’t made it a full day yet.)

The idea is to get you to refocus your language and behavior. Instead of complaining, you should focus

on what you want, not what you don't want.

Pause, reflect on what you want - and state your intention.

This is no easy task, as all of us complain. The thing is, complaining keeps you stuck. After all, if you

get more of what you focus on, and you focus on complaining, you will get more to complain about!

Whether you read his book yet or not doesn’t matter as I found the author and cornered him for an hour

to capture this month’s remarkable Hypnotic Gold interview. We covered such topics as --

I was a skeptic about blogs.

Every time I heard about them, I didn’t see how they could make you any money.

Every time I looked at any blogs, I felt they were boring and self-indulgent.

So I delayed creating my own blog for years.

But then one day, while speaking on a cruise ship off the shores of Cuba, a SEO (search

engine optimization) expert told me and everyone else we had to have a blog.

He explained search engines love them, and they would bring traffic to your site, which

ultimately would be good for your sales.

So I put up a blog — and was amazed at how it has helped me and my business.
