Dr. Laurie Marbas is a family practice physician currently based in Boca Raton, Florida. In her position as Medical Director of Dr. Joel Furhman’s Health Oasis, an outpatient clinic, she helps people regain their health and reverse chronic diseases with diet and lifestyle changes. While an Active Duty Medical doctor with the air force, Dr. Marbas served abroad in various countries and is well traveled in the US, having worked and lived in New Mexico, Oregon, Maryland, Texas, Colorado, and Florida. Dr. Marbas's insightful approach perpetuates a theme you may be recognizing more and more in various interviews on my podcasts: Like several other dedicated doctors, she was able and willing to rethink the efficacy of standard practice methods in the medical paradigm when it came to treating chronic ailments such as diabetes, heart disease and obesity. But she had serious homework to do on lifestyle medicine because when she started treating her patients in this new way, there wasn’t that much information out there, which goes to show how extraordinary she is. Find out how 3 separate patients with three seemingly unrelated conditions including a stomach ache, ADHD and Lupus along with a story about a refrigerator led Dr. Marbas to fundamentally change the way she treats patients, as well as totally revamp the way she feeds her family and ultimately deliver her to her dream job. Dr. Marbas also interviewed me as part of her podcast, which you can find on sound cloud.
