Until the majority population understands that POC are not a monolith then we will continue to deal with press conferences and speeches in which authority figures are blind to their comments. An honest reckoning needs to occur, that clearly isn't happening. That realization is that members of any and all communicates have the potential to do good and evil. But for some reason, there is a reluctance to admit that in one specific community there are members who commit acts of violence and they are deemed as having a bad day or some other outlier. From Aunt Jemima to Sambo to current images in the media AA portrayal has been a struggle for decency. We have made great strides and the Black Panther Party of the 1960s and 70s was a huge part of reclaiming Black pride.
