Among his many titles, Dr. Mark Epstein is a certified veterinary pain practitioner through the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. In this week’s Quick Cup of Knowledge, he chats with our host, Dr. Natalie Marks, about how his emphasis on pain management started with a very personal journey and helped him question how we handle pain in our pet clients.

**About Dr. Mark Epstein**
Dr. Epstein received his DVM from University of Georgia and is the Senior Partner and Medical Director of TotalBond Veterinary Hospitals and Carolinas Animal Pain Management, a small group of AAHA-accredited practices in the Charlotte & Gastonia NC area that received the Small Business of the Year Award from the Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2015. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Canine/Feline) and is a past-president of ABVP. He is certified by the American Academy of Pain Management, is recognized as a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP) by the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management and is a past-president of IVAPM.
