Thomas Jay Oord is a theologian, philosopher, and scholar of multi-disciplinary studies. He is an award-winning author, and he has written or edited more than twenty books. Oord has won the Outstanding Faculty Award twelve times as professor of Northwest Nazarene University, Nampa, Idaho. Oord is known for his contributions to research on love, relational theology, science and religion, and Wesleyan/Holiness/Church of the Nazarene thought.

He’s the critically acclaimed author of over two dozen books of fiction and nonfiction including his latest, “The Gospel According to James Baldwin: What America’s Great Prophet Can Teach Us about Life, Love, and Identity.”  
 Greg studied at Oklahoma State University where he received his PhD in English.
