Dr. Baskin has been practicing Physical Therapy since graduation, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1991. Prior to that he was licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and he has been involved in direct patient care since 1986. Having been awarded the Mississippi Physical Therapy Association's Distinguished Service Award in 1991, he has since been involved in Association Leadership both at the state and national levels. He is also a recipient of the American Physical Therapy Association's Award of Excellence. Moreover, he is a former World Champion and gold medalist in martial arts and understands what it takes to excel at the highest levels in both practice and sport.
At this time Dr. Baskin is involved with patient care, practice leadership, development, and expansion of new programs. He served as an elected officer in the American Physical Therapy Association's (APTA) Private Practice Section from 1999-2009, and he currently serves as an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor for the University of Mississippi Medical Center's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and multiple Physical Therapy Assistant Programs throughout the state. He has been in private practice since 1993 when he established GT Physical Therapy (then known as Golden Triangle Rehabilitation).
Having been published in both text books and professional periodicals, Dr. Baskin continues to be actively involved in traveling, learning, and developing new and innovative strategies to improve patient outcomes in the out-patient setting. Utilizing cutting edge technology, hands-on techniques and the latest evidence, GT Physical Therapy has achieved an excellent reputation as a results-based practice where physicians and patients know that they are accessing the best physical therapy available.
When not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Baskin spending time with his children playing tennis, working out, or watching Netflix. He continues to teach special classes in the martial arts at Elite Martial Arts Academy. You can also find him at wadebaskin.com. Outside of the clinic you can find him, traveling, snow skiing, snowboarding, doing extreme martial arts, watching action movies, and bike riding (with and without a motor.
