Drawing near

Listen Later

Drawing near

I think the needle must be stuck in the groove

Seems once again the Russian bear is on the move

Whether it’s Uzbekistan, Poland, Belarus or the Ukraine

Places change but the evil empire continues to inflict pain

Putin claims with a purposeful smirk to be pulling back the troops

Those garnering news from Tass are the only ones that he dupes

While here at home the defeated regime uses the cover to spread lies

But I ain’t falling for it, save that shit for your zombie eyed MAGA guys

Water continues to drip into the oceans, the global temperature keeps on rising

The politicians stand and stare without even a clue, which is hardly surprising

From the mycelium under our feet, to the planets and stars dotting our skies

Our world is taking a beating, but we are too busy to hear the growing cries

Millions of years frozen in time, warming to the brink that scientists' fear

Despite being told it was years in the future, that time is drawing near

Somewhere in all this maddening chaos, another drop melts off Thwaites

And on the handle of the unused snowblower hangs a dusty old pair of skates

Constant fighting goes on, abroad and at home, redrawing political lines of local districts

While a busy room full of number crunching buzzing computer nerds labeled social misfits

Reveals the shocking news that a glacier will be released 5 years earlier than expected

The only time you hear concern about the earth is when a politician needs to get re-elected

After a brief pause, they’re back at their bickering, promising constituents they won’t be cheated

Double voting, falsified ballots, changing of votes will be eliminated- and the other guys defeated

Learn to swim and build a raft, that time is drawing near
