Threadspinner Playtest really started settling into a rhythm in July, as the campaigns finished or approached the endings of their first regions. A lot of the changes in Threadspinner Draft 4 were inspired by the events in these episodes, including major revisions to how regions work. We hope the second set of regions will be even better!

As a memento of each region, Luke has asked one of us to draw a map every time we finish one. We'll be sharing our maps of each campaign's first region on the $3 tier this month, as part of the GM Notes collection!

1. From July 1st to July 31st, send us a message on Patreon that includes a new piece of DFTU fan art you created! This can be for Threadspinner, Eidolon, or anything else related to the podcast!

2. From August 1st to August 7th, we will run a poll for the audience's favorite piece of fan art! Any free or paid Patreon member can vote in this poll! This poll will include a copy of your fan art with credit and any title or description you would like to include!

A new draft of Threadspinner will still be posted this month, but due to scheduling difficulties there won't be a new Design Session. However, we would still like to post some other behind-the-scenes content on the $3 tier to make up for it. So I ask the question to you, the audience:

What behind-the-scenes content you like to see?

We never said we'd get it in one! While we're very happy with the core mechanics of Threadspinner, as we continue to record episodes across all three campaigns, we've begun to take note of some design flaws that need addressing.

One of the dangers of making the game rules diegetic is that the PCs know that they're in a story and can try to exploit the narrative structure to shortcut the game! We don't really spend enough time in each Region for it to feel as well-realized as we'd like it to! Kinda sucks if you have 0 Thread and want to continue participating in the game but can't! Maybe The Fae shouldn't be able to generate up to 15 charges to copy a powerful enemy's strongest ability!

The show's called a Playtest for a reason, and this month we have a variety of large and small design problems to tackle, while still making time to talk about whether we should get around to watching Mad Men. We should probably get around to watching Mad Men.
