What does it mean to be a human being? To bear the image and likeness of God. What is the image and likeness of God? The Son. Therefore, the way we live most "human" is to live as if everything in our life is hidden in Christ.

Rest and trust are what it means to be truly human. Therefore, God will do whatever it takes to get you into the rest, trust, dependence, and reliance, that you were made in/for. Testing is his goodness, proving the value within you.

The Sabbath (to rest) is not inactivity but activity in trust. Likewise, giving is not losing resources because we "have to," giving is sowing resources into the ground, trusting that God will produce a great harvest with it. We have to live in these two realities if we are to align ourselves with who we really are.
