This week I will be having my first ever interview with two people! I will be interviewing two very special ladies who have contributed a LOT to the unified sports programs in Prince William County by bringing the program to the entire county at the high school level!
On this episode I will be interviewing Ms. Cindy Ardecki, a Special Education teacher in Prince William County. Previously she had worked in a mental health hospital as a recreational therapist. Today I will ask her about how her previous experiences affect the way she views her job, and what exactly it is that she does for a living!
Good morning and happy tuesday! Today I am interviewing PE department chair and advocate for unified sports, Ms. Feden. Ms. Feden Coached basketball and track unified at woodbridge, as well as starting a unified class at woodbridge High school. She is a proud Jmu grad along with her two sons, one who's currently in attendance right now playing basketball. She encouraged both of her sons who also engaged in unified sports. I hope you enjoy, and learn a little bit more about unified, and might even consider getting involved!
This week's episode is an interview with a dear family friend of mine, high school school psychologist, Mr. Maxfield. In this episode we discuss issues that have occurred with online learning in the past year, how this impacts his job, and what his role is in the special education process! I hope you enjoy it!
Hello everyone! I am back after a long, much needed break. Today I want to talk about a lot of things, Sticking to the themes of back to school, and our latest news regarding our disabilities community, and those who support it! To begin, I want to talk about my new release schedule. Last year was a year of many challenges, but on the positive side, it was very convenient for filming. Now that school is back in full swing for me, I will be releasing episodes every other tuesday! On the topic of difficult times I want to talk about mental health next. I used this summer as a mental break in order to ensure I was fully prepared for this school year, and my new twirling season to come. I encourage anyone who is having mental troubles to take breaks, as this was much needed for myself and has brought me to an amazing mental headspace since. Now, to begin our recent news, I want to discuss the paralympics. Many of you may not even be aware that they are going on right now. Now this can present a major problem that is not talked about by many. How come we have yet to hear about this? How can we fix this problem? Well luckily, I know how we can take the first steps. To begin, if we generate attention towards the news in the Paralympics, we can bring others to have interest. By posting about it on social media, by talking about it with your peers, even teaching others. If we can create a topic of conversation upon it, I guarantee others will be drawn in as well. Now, this week I would like to spotlight paralympic Track and Field runner, Noelle Lambert. She lost her left leg in a moped accident in 2016. Lambert runs the hundred yard dash, and this is her first year in the paralympics. She's the daughter of Geoffrey and Judy Lambert...Has three older siblings and 29 first cousins...Played lacrosse at University of Massachusetts Lowell, where she majored in criminal justice...Named the inaugural recipient of the America East Inspiration Award...2019 Boston Celtics’ Heroes Among Us award winner...Lists Gossip Girl as her favorite TV show...Names Tom Brady as her favorite athlete...Favorite teams include the Patriots, Celtics and Bruins...Founded the Born to Run Foundation, which provides specialized prosthetics to younger adults and children that will allow them to live a fun and fulfilling life. Her motto is "You never know what you're capable of doing until you fail." Every Podcast I release will spotlight a different athlete while the paralympics are going on! Thank you guys for listening, and I hope you have a great tuesday!
Today I'm interviewing Anna Yanc, the 2020 Miss Abilities ambassador, she is very caring and outgoing, who encourages young men and women to engage in activities where they can feel confident in themselves and be confident that they can do whatever they set their minds to.
Today's guest on dreaming differently works in Prince William county, similarly to Ms. Weisman from my first episode, however, Ms. Fileding is a little different. Ms. Fielding works towards creating accessibility for all students with disabilities. Whether that be blindness, in need of certain tools to learn as we all can, or maybe hearing deficits where technology needs to be put in place. One great thing I enjoy about these interviews is the different people I interview each week! So sit back and relax, because this episode is gonna be a good one!
For this week's episode of Dreaming differently, I invited a special guest from the Miss Virginia organization like myself! Her platform, similarly to mine is all about supporting those with autism. This was an amazing episode that was so incredibly fun to film! So excited for you to listen!
