Brandon Poliszuk is the founder of Social Butterfly and Link N Drink, young entrepreneur of the year in the state of Minnesota for 2019, and a man who applies a Kobe Bryant type work ethic towards chasing his dreams.
Social Butterfly is company he founded while he was attending Mankato State University. Brandon's vision was created perfectly with the opportunity that was at play. Back in 2015, the market was wide open in the social media world. While a lot of business were still so focused on print and old style marketing tactics, Brandon knew the future of marketing was here. Now in just 4 years, the company has worked with companies like UNRL, IKONICK, TRUFF, and many more. They also work with big time athletes and individuals suck as Adam Thielen of the Minnesota Vikings and Jason Zucker - now a member of the Pittsburg Penguins.
Link N Drink is a networking events company that was created to connect the new age hustlers in Minneapolis. Just over a year after the birth of the idea, they now have hundreds of young entrepreneurs, dream chasers, and movers in the Minneapolis area attending their events. Their new events partner - the Walker Art Center - is where all of their 2020 events will be hosted.
In this interview, Brandon and I talk about the evolution of him finding out what his passions are, developing his skillsets, and the process of building these businesses. While business is one of the main focuses of the conversation, we dive deep into some specific aspects of personal development. Here are just a few:
Hard work. Brandon is a believer in that working hard and smart is the only way to reach your goals. He applies a mamba mentality to his work ethic and he is a believer in the Tony Robbin's quote "If you know your why, you can figure out how to do anything." When you work hard, you figure out the how.
Greatness. Brandon wants to leave a legacy. Crazy enough, we had this conversation just a week perform the passing of Kobe Bryant, and we talked about how we would define greatness. We also looked at the difference in defining greatness for athletes vs non-athletes.
Longevity. Brandon is all about the long-play. While he could have moved out to Los Angeles, California and worked with the top brands in the nation, he wanted to stay in Minneapolis and build something big. He wanted him and his Social Butterfly team to put Minnesota on the map. Finally, he wants to be a part of the movement that shows Minnesota is a force in the business and entrepreneurial world.
This episode is perfect for people ready to level up. Brandon is willing to talk to anyone who feels moved after listening to this interview:
