I felt an urgency to record this morning. Had no idea what the direction would be, but that’s the beauty of music and connecting the dots. A sonic rollercoaster. New year, elevated energy. As I sat in my best friend’s crib, I randomly discovered a group by the name of cosmic collective - the creators of this episode’s opening track. Funny how one song can inspire such urgency. And here we are.. the first episode of the new year and another step closer to our big milestone. I’m excited for 2026.

I’ll admit.. my confidence hasn’t been where I needed to be over the past month. Doesn’t help when you factor the many layers that life presents. But the music… the music.. it’ll always be the reset button. Thankful for this episode and the sounds. I hope you enjoy this one. Episode 086 💎

To be honest, after Episode 084, I felt like I could’ve done more in giving D’Angelo his flowers. I aimed to record this immediately after that, but life happens. Then Soulection dropped another tribute episode and I’m like damn, I missed my window.

But D’Angelo’s impact on R&B/Soul music… his impact on music as a whole deserves to be celebrated no matter what. And that’s been urgent in my spirit these past few weeks. So, again, I dedicate this to Michael Archer and his legacy. I hope you all enjoy
