At the halfway point in the South Dakota High School Football season, we had play-by-play staple Darren Boyle come in and dissect each classification and look ahead at the playoffs. The Verendrye Benovolent Association will host its 76th annual horse races Oct. 5 and 6, 2024, at the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierre. VBA member and Track Manager Shane Kramme says it’ll be another showcase of the horse racing talent that’s raised in and around South Dakota.

This (2024) will be the 76th year of horse races being held in Fort Pierre.
