Believe it or not, I wrote it while I still lived with my parents while I was trying to pull my life back together from nuclear implosion. The metaphor with the cross was new back then, while tired nowadays, It still holds up.

Our engineer Todd Brady would always make us cut a better version of whatever piece we were working on, he would always say Push It Baby in the talkback from the engineering room into the vocal booth. It became a thing. We kept it front loaded on Lifter.

From my 2001 album Asleep Inside. I drove a '97 Cheverolet Impala when I was 16. I cut my teeth on Paul Simon and Bruce Springsteen when I got my first guitar in 7th grade. This is one of my favorites. For 4 years I burned down everything around me. Drugs, alcohol, hospital ER check-ins from it all. My life was thrown away. Music helped save me. If your life is a tornado right now, this is yours.
