【Resting Place of My Heart】

1 May I oft’ consider

With me forever You abide.

My heart is forever Your desire.

Day and night You are here by my side.

2 May I oft’ gaze at You,

Set You always before my eyes.

My heart’s glad and peaceful in Your presence.

My faith has captured Your heart.

3 May I have eyes like dove’s

To see You living in heav’n for me,

Consider that You live in my heart.

I set my love and my thoughts on You.

4 May You gain every day

My mind, my love and my will.

You are the glorious vision of my heart.

In Your love I rest in great delight.

5 When I awake from sleep,

Let me first behold You in heaven.

Consider that You are with me always,

Walking with me toward each new day.

A Song of Ascents.

1 To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!

2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us.

3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, for we have had more than enough of contempt.

4 Our soul has had more than enough of the scorn of those who are at ease, of the contempt of the proud.
