Don’t be hesitant to adapt when something crazy is thrown your way. And challenge your view of story because that’s the sweet spot of writing.

The magic of words, whether in screenplays or teleplays or journalism, allows us as writers to paint a picture for viewers, listeners, and audiences everywhere. We see the world through a more romantic lens and we aren’t meant to apologize for that. The normal world can bore us and so we exist in our imaginations or deep within our research. Because I think we all need a little!

Writers block is gone, and I read a bit from my “Dorian Gray” adaptation, including mispronouncing Basil’s name which I course correct!! (Americans say Bāsil but it’s actually Básil!!) Point is, I rewrote page one live because as writers, rewriting is the most critical tool in our toolbox. We have to be able to trim the writing fat!

The title says it all.

HOW we relay our stories matters. This week I talk about struggling with writer’s block, how to process feelings and put them down productively, ways to get out of the funk, and why listening to a vinyl is my favorite thing.

It happens to all of us, myself included. This week I have a few tricks to help us get out of the funk as well as some show suggestions, and words of wisdom on why diversity and inclusion in programming matters.
