We reveal some of our Lost Girl "favorites," including our favorite season, female and male characters, and favorite episodes from Seasons 1 through 4. This episode is a compilation of several short episodes we produced as part of our 30 Days of Lost Girl series in which we answered a bunch of questions about Lost Girl.

Continuing our series of in-depth discussions about some of our favorite episodes, we discuss “Vexed.” Even though it is the eighth episode of the first season, “Vexed” is actually the pilot episode of the series. We will talk about some of the inconsistencies in “Vexed,” which are common for pilot episodes, as well as our thoughts about the character development, production design, and direction.

We're going back to the beginning this week for an in-depth discussion about the premiere episode of Lost Girl, "It's a Fae, Fae, Fae, Fae World." Lost Girl's first episode provides a solid introduction to both the characters and the world of the series, and it seems to remain a fan favorite.

NOTE: We are not intending to discuss all of the Season 1-3 episodes, rather we're going to feature some of our favorite episodes to discuss in detail.

In these bits of conversation left over from our episode about The Dark Fae, we discuss some minor Dark Fae characters as well as another example of Light Fae exploiting humans similarly to how Dark Fae often have. We also discuss Bo's position as the unaligned succubus in the Light/Dark system a bit more and the concept of Light and Dark territories as well as clans.

The Fae World exists as a two-party system, the Dark and the Light. While the Dark Fae are often antagonists, as a group they are not consistently evil, just as the Light are not purely good. We discuss what we know about the Dark Fae, including their political structure and their philosophy toward humans, as well as some of the prominent Dark Fae characters, including Vex and The Morrigan.

When is The Morrigan going to call in that favor from Kenzi? What happened to Lou Ann Heidegger? Is the first Ash still on life support? We discuss the hanging plot threads on Lost Girl that people are anxious to be resolved, many of which -- not surprisingly -- are leftover from Season 4.

Colors are an important part of visual storytelling. Not only do they provide visual appeal, they are used to enhance the mood or to indicate the shifting emotions of a scene, and colors can also be used to distinguish one storyline from another. We discuss how colors were used in Season 4 of Lost Girl to shape characters’ storylines as well as highlight the season’s theme of memory.

Fanfiction and fanvids are great ways for fans to engage with TV shows both to offer their own take on a scene or a character or to just show their appreciation. We share some of our favorite fanfic and fanvids as well as listener’s favorites.

While Lost Girl has provided very refreshing portrayals of queer characters, it unfortunately has fallen into the same pattern as many sci-fi/fantasy shows in regards to its representation of non-white characters. We discuss how non-white characters have been portrayed on Lost Girl, including how Hale's storyline has been treated as well as the show's use of the human/Fae divide as a metaphor to talk about race.
