Bella Italia - Alfa Romeo has high hopes for its newest Guilietta. Japanese future - we put the hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai through its paces. And: Italo-American - the Jeep Wrangler is now built by Fiat-Chrysler, but stays true to its roots.Present it! Alfa Romeo GiuliettaWe test a 1.6-liter turbo diesel Alfa Giulietta with 88 kW of power, combined with the Alfa Twin Clutch Transmission. The new engine, available for the first time in the Giulietta, comes in 5 gasoline and 3 diesel versions. The Giulietta has three drive modes, known as DNA - "Dynamic", "Natural" and "All Weather". Our tester tried out all three, but had the most fun cornering on country roads.
Examine it! Panamera Turbo S ExecutiveIt has a distinctive look, and a distinctive sound: the Porsche Turbo S. The Executive version of the Panamera has a lot more room inside, because the wheel-base has been extended by 15 cm. It sports a 419 kW engine, too. There are plenty of luxurious touches as well -- like video screens built into the front-seat headrests.Taste it! Toyota MiraiToyota’s Mirai is the first mass-produced car powered by fuel cells. It takes four minutes to fill up with approx. 5kg of hydrogen. When combined with oxygen, the resulting electric output of 114 KW is enough to take you some 500 kilometers on a full tank.Test it! Jeep WranglerWhile some cars these days have fake retro-styling, others are the real deal. The Jeep Wrangler has maintained its classic design over the years - long before SUVs became all the rage. It makes light work of the toughest terrain, although with a diesel engine its CO² output of 237g/km is far from eco-friendly. And it costs a pretty penny too.Vintage! Intermeccanica Italia SpyderThis roadster is a marriage of sophisticated Italian coachmaking with American muscle. It was designed by Franco Scaglione in the mid-1960s, but owes its bite to an 8-cylinder US engine with 300 hp - in his case a Ford. The vast majority of Italia Spyders were fitted with a 3-speed automatic transmission, but Drive it! checks out a model with the optional 4-speed manual one.
