Its difficult to believe that Derry City have not won in the league at the Showgrounds since 2009, but that was the case until Saturday nights dominant display. Rory Patterson scored on the 17th Minute with a free kick and Rory Hale finished the game off with a strike on the 75th minute. Derry never looked in danger of losing the game or indeed conceeding a goal. As Gavin Peers stood out toonight on his full debut for the Candystripes.

We have goal Highlights plus we hear from the gaffer Kenny Shiels shortly after the Final whistle.

Derry City manager Kenny Shiels is under no illusion that Mondays League Cup tie (Live on Drive105 from 4:45pm) with local neighbours Finn Harps will be nothing less than a tough encounter. Both teams will be playing for more than just bragging rights but also the chance to move closer to a League Cup Final. A cup which Derry made their own for several years.

A Brace from Aaron McEneff 10' & 73' gave Derry City there 3rd Home win in a row. At times the Candystripes rode their luck against a good St Pats side. It was the Candytripes who came out in top and sent the Brandywell faithful home in good voice.
