Paul recounts his story of encountering and being transformed by the love of Jesus. For all who are in Christ, we have a parallel story. The love of Jesus doesn't come to us because we've earned it or because we are so rebellious and evil. Rather, God loves us and transforms us into people of love because He Himself is Love.
