As summer 2019 rounded to a close, Ohio University hosted the first-ever It’s On Us National Student Leadership Summit, bringing hundreds of students from across the country together to discuss the pressing issue of sexual assault on college campuses.
RaeAnn Ensworth, a senior at OHIO, attended the conference with the intention of applying what she learned to her leadership role on campus. The vice president of public relations for the Women’s Panhellenic Association, the governing body of ten member sororities at Ohio University, Ensworth wanted to spearhead initiatives within the community in support of a culture that respects and supports survivors.
In this episode of Ohio Today Radio, we follow Ensworth through the first months of the fall semester, to see where her activism takes her and what she learns along the way: the importance of honest and open dialogue.
