  • Dr. Jeff & Friends, Season 1, Episode 12: Is IV NAD+ Worth It? A Cardiologist Talks NAD+, NRF1 & Heart Health | Dr. Jeff & Friends with Dr. Doug Rothrock

🫀 Are we really preventing heart disease - or just getting better at treating it?

In this episode of Dr. Jeff & Friends, Dr. Jeff welcomes Doug Rothrock, MD, a cardiologist with experience in conventional cardiology, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology.

Over the last 50 years, cardiovascular medicine has made extraordinary advances. We can open blocked arteries, correct abnormal heart rhythms, and manage heart failure with increasingly sophisticated treatments.

    But here's the question:

Why aren't we spending more time addressing the underlying processes that contribute to cardiovascular disease?

Tonight, we're going beyond cholesterol, blood pressure, and blocked arteries to explore cellular health, mitochondrial function, and the emerging science surrounding NRF1 and NAD+.

    🔬 WHAT WE DISCUSS:

❤️ How cardiology has changed over the last 50 years - and whether we're doing enough to prevent disease.

🧬 Why mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress matter in cardiovascular health.

⚡ NRF1, mitochondrial biogenesis, and the potential implications for heart failure research.

💉 IV NAD+ versus oral NAD+ support: What does the science actually tell us about effectiveness, bioavailability, and clinical benefits?

🫀 Why Dr. Rothrock has incorporated LifeVantage products into his cardiology practice and what additional research is needed.

💪 Three things you can start doing TODAY to improve your cardiovascular health.

    THE BIG QUESTION:

What if the future of cardiology isn't just about treating a damaged heart - but understanding what's damaging it in the first place?

Join us for a thought-provoking conversation about conventional medicine, prevention, cellular health, and the future of cardiovascular care.

  • Dr. Jeff & Friends, Season 1, Episode 11: OXIDATIVE STRESS: THE MASTER CLASS WITH DR. DONDEE NETTLES - PART 2 | Mitochondria, Obesity, Cancer & What You Can Do?

    🧬 MASTERCLASS: OXIDATIVE STRESS - PART 2

In Part 2 of our Oxidative Stress Masterclass, Dr. Donnie Nettles and I take the conversation deeper, looking at what oxidative stress can do at the cellular level and why it may play such an important role in our long-term health.

We start with the mitochondria - the structures inside our cells responsible for producing much of the energy our bodies need.

What happens when oxidative stress begins damaging mitochondrial function?

ATP production can decline. Cellular energy can suffer. And mitochondrial dysfunction has been associated with fatigue, metabolic dysfunction, cardiovascular disease, aging, and many chronic diseases.

From there, we explore the connection between oxidative stress, obesity, and our modern food supply including how what we eat can influence inflammation, metabolism, and cellular health.

We also discuss a more serious consequence of oxidative damage: DNA damage and genetic mutations, and how accumulated cellular damage can contribute to the processes involved in cancer development.

But we didn't want to end the Masterclass by simply talking about what's going wrong.

We wanted to talk about what you can actually do about it.

So Dr. Nettles and I finish the episode by each sharing 5 things you can start doing TODAY to help reduce oxidative stress and support better overall health.

This isn't about chasing one supplement or one treatment.

It's about understanding the biology -and then making choices that help your body work the way it was designed to work.

▶️ Watch Masterclass: Oxidative Stress - Part 2 and let us know in the comments which change you're going to start with.

  • Dr. Jeff & Friends, Season 1, Episode 10: OXIDATIVE STRESS: THE MASTER CLASS WITH DR. DONDEE NETTLES - PART 1 | What Changed Our Health?

🧬 WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR HEALTH?

Something changed dramatically over the last 50 years.

    Obesity increased.

    Type 2 diabetes increased.

    Metabolic disease became increasingly common.

And today, many people are living longer—but not necessarily living healthier.

    So what changed?

In Part 1 of our Oxidative Stress Master Class, my good friend Dr. Dondee Nettles joins me on Dr. Jeff & Friends to start connecting the dots.

We go back to the 1970s and look at the transformation of the American food environment, the growth of ultra-processed foods, and how our changing lifestyles may be affecting our biology.

    But then we go deeper.

🧬 What exactly is oxidative stress?

⚡ What happens when oxidative stress begins affecting our mitochondria?

🔥 How are oxidative stress and chronic inflammation connected?

⚖️ What is happening metabolically as obesity and insulin resistance develop?

🩸 How can chronically elevated blood sugar damage cells and blood vessels?

🧠 And could some of the diseases we treat as completely separate problems actually share some of the same underlying biological pathways?

This is where the conversation gets fascinating.

Because maybe we need to spend less time asking only:

    "What disease do you have?"

    And start asking:

"What is happening to the biology underneath it?"

  • Dr. Jeff & Friends, Season 1, Episode 9: The Savage Factors: How Stress Can Make Us Stronger with Charles Runels, MD

What if the right kind of stress could actually make us stronger?

On this episode of Dr. Jeff & Friends, Dr. Jeff sits down with his friend Dr. Charles Runels, author of Savage Factors and inventor of the O-Shot®, P-Shot® and Vampire Facelift®, for a wide-ranging conversation about the biology of resilience, regeneration and healthy aging.

They discuss Charles' personal routine, fasting, why he stays away from his phone until noon, growth hormone and aging, and the concept that carefully applied physiological stress may trigger adaptive responses within the body.

The conversation then moves into growth hormone secretagogues, oxidative stress and the importance of creating the right biological environment for repair and regeneration.

Finally, Charles tells the stories behind the development of the O-Shot® and P-Shot®, and Dr. Jeff asks him to leave listeners with something practical: What should we all be doing daily, weekly and monthly to improve our health and longevity?

  • Dr. Jeff & Friends, Season 1, Episode 8: Gut Health: It's Not Just About Digestion with Dr. Jessica Buhler

When most people hear "gut health," they think about digestion, bloating, constipation, or stomach problems.

But the gut is connected to so much more.

In this episode of Dr. Jeff & Friends, Dr. Jeff sits down with special guest Dr. Jessica Buhler to explore why the gut may be one of the most important biological ecosystems in the body.

We discuss the connection between gut health and:

    • The gut microbiome • Inflammation • Immune function • Metabolism • Hormones • Brain health and mood • The gut-brain connection • Diet and ultra-processed foods • Overall health and wellness

We also look at what can happen when the microbiome becomes disrupted and why improving gut health may be an important place to start when trying to improve overall health.

Your gut isn't simply a tube that processes food. It communicates with your immune system, your metabolism, and even your brain.

The bigger question isn't just, "How is your digestion?"

It's "How healthy is the ecosystem living inside you?"
