In this episode, Dr Lauren Sanders speaks to Paul Lushenko, to discuss the broader implications of drone strikes in terms of politics and strategy, moral legitimacy of states’ use of drone warfare, and his new book, Drones and the Global Order, published in December 2021.  

Paul is a U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and General Andrew Jackson Goodpaster Scholar at Cornell University, where he is pursuing a PhD in International Relations. After commissioning as a Military Intelligence Officer in 2005 from the United States Military Academy, he studied at The Australian National University as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar and the U.S. Naval War College. He is also a Council on Foreign Relations Term Member and Adjunct Research Lecturer for the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security at Charles Sturt University.
