 Cavan have won the Ulster cup! I wonder how that makes you feel?. How long will your joy last? Hopefully a bit longer when Cavan win the All-Ireland! But even then, how long will your joy last? Joy, happiness tends to go up and down with circumstances. That’s right in some ways, we’re human! But is there a way to have a joy that stays with us no matter what the circumstances, so that it’s possible to have a joy even if Cavan lose, Christmas is cancelled by another lockdown? Is it possible to have joy even when life is tough?  This Sunday we’re going to learn from the virgin Mary about how we can have joy that is unfading and forever.  A joy that doesn’t depend on our circumstances. A joy that we can have even on a dark cold morning when we don’t feel like getting out of bed!

Do you long for a good leader? Wouldn’t it be good to have a leader whose word you could trust, and who you knew was working for your good? As humans we long for a good ruler to rule forever!

Does God always hear our prayers? Does God always answer our prayers? Maybe know the pain of God seeming to be silent. Maybe you prayed for something for a long time and there seemed to be no answer and so you stopped praying. What’s the point. This Sunday we’re going to see something of how God answers prayer. Our world is full of uncertainty, how long will Covid-19 last? When will there be a vaccine? What can we do this Christmas? And then there’s the added complication of Fake News! How do we know what is true? Wouldn’t it be great to have certainty! The uncertainty can even creep into our Christian faith. This Sunday we’re going to see how we can have certainty in what really matters. We will also have an Act of Remembrance during the prayers.
