10 years ago, Vancouver police attacked the peaceful annual Cannabis Day protest, beating and arresting several prominent activists in a show of power preceding Canada's "legalization". Here is my raw footage of that moment. It is dedicated to Neil Magnuson and Bert Easterbrook, 2 of the activists arrested that day, who have both since passed away.

This upload includes additional footage not seen elsewhere, improved audio, and better video resolution. Contains violence (not graphic), and adult language.

Cannabis was "legalized" in 2018, but only for the government to grow and sell. The gardeners, patients, activists, and farmers market participants seen here are still illegal, and in 2020, they are being raided and charged. The prison time for cannabis 'offenses' has increased to 14 years under Legalization.
