Saul and his army are undone with anxiety before the terrible Goliath. David responds instead with an imagination crafted by God, and is able to respond correctly. Are we overwhelmed with our hardships, or do we lean on Jesus to teach us how to respond?

God calls David to a new workplace where he ministers healing and life to the broken King Saul. Likewise, God calls us to see our work as a participation in his work, and our workplaces as places to bring God's healing and life to bear on his world.

God calls Samuel to choose and anoint the forgotten shepherd boy, David, as Israel's new King. Sometimes we feel forgotten, yet, in Christ, God has called and anointed each and every one of us to a new life and calling in Christ.
