George Stephanopoulos Desperately Tries to Get Walmart CEO to Trash Trump and Economy, Fails Miserably  

  • Stephanopoulos, “Let’s talk about Thanksgiving first,” Stephanopoulos began. “Food prices are up, especially turkey, so what are you doing to keep the costs down?”
  • Stephanopoulos, tried to get Walmart U.S. CEO John Furner to bash President Trump for “harming the economy” with his tariffs. Furner, however, refused to take the bait and delivered another embarrassing blow to Stephanopoulos.
  • When Stephanopoulos tried to claim the economy is in a tailspin, citing a rise in turkey prices ahead of Thanksgiving, Furner pushed back, saying that not only will Walmart’s turkeys will be at their “lowest since 2019,” the cost of their Thanksgiving basket for ten will be “$14 cheaper than last year.
  • “We’re down about 25% since last year, down about $14 for the basket, which puts us in a position where this basket is just under $4 a person serving 10 people.”

        High Casualty Russian Attack On Ukraine As NATO Chief In Washington

        • Just as NATO secretary general Mark Rutte is in Washington and is set to meet with President Trump Wednesday afternoon, Russia has launched another major overnight drone and missile attack which resulted in a high amount of civilian casualties.
        • Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a post on X that the attack killed at least seven civilians, including children, and that 17 were confirmed injured. “There were fires in Zaporizhzhia and hits on homes in Kyiv. The Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy and Sumy regions were under attack,” he wrote.

The individuals are accused of working with Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service to carry out surveillance on military facilities and critical infrastructure elements in both countries, in preparation for carrying out acts of sabotage, and directed attacks on various locations across Poland and Eastern Europe. Poland’s Special Services stated that the individuals had created a route to send explosives through Poland and Romania to Ukraine, adding that the shipments were supposed to spontaneously combust or explode during transport, and that the objective of the planned actions was to intimidate the population and destabilize the European Union against supporting Ukraine.

            The eight arrested individuals were **Ukrainian citizens**, not Russian. They were accused of collaborating with Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) on surveillance, sabotage planning, and an explosives shipment plot, but official announcements and reports confirm their nationalities as Ukrainian for the three specifically identified in the parcel scheme (a 21-year-old detained near Warsaw, Poland, and two others aged 21 and 24 detained in Bucharest, Romania). The nationalities of the other five—detained in Poland for related activities like monitoring military sites and infrastructure—have not been publicly specified,

            Two Russian-Interest Oil Refineries in Romania and Hungary Erupt in Simultaneous Explosions, as Putin-Trump Budapest Meeting Delayed

            • We have discussed at length how the EU/NATO intelligence apparatus will do anything to keep U.S. President Trump and Russian President Putin in conflict against each other. As a consequence of tracking the datapoints around this issue, these events in Romania and Hungary cannot be perceived as coincidental.

            • Now, two simultaneous oil refineries explode. One of them a Russian-owned refinery in Romania, the other a refinery in Hungary that processes Russian oil.
            • According to Daily News Hungary, the Romanian explosion happened in Ploiești, in the Wallachian region, the refinery is one of Romania’s largest, with a capacity of over 2.5 million tonnes. the refinery is owned by the Russian company Lukoil.
            • The refinery in Hungary at Százhalombatta refines Russian oil. It erupted in flames on Monday night. “The fire broke out on Monday night at the Dunai Refinery’s AV3 unit. It was swiftly contained, and firefighters have remained on site since, MOL stated in a press release issued last night.” […] “According to information obtained by index.hu from industry insiders, the entire oil refinery faces the possibility of a complete shutdown. Prime Minister Orbán Viktor, in his morning post, has promised the strictest investigation into the fire.”

That means mobilizing beds, triage units, and medical supply chains that could handle tens of thousands of casualties within months. When Health Minister Catherine Vautrin said it was perfectly normal to plan for such crises, she was telegraphing a new political tone: acknowledging risk without causing alarm.
                • France is essentially repurposing its pandemic response model for potential conflict scenarios, creating dual use readiness that could apply to anything from terrorism to full scale war. Germany’s plans are more systemic. Berlin is reactivating Cold War era bunkers, converting metro tunnels into shelters, and talking openly about compulsory service again. The language “ready for war by 2029” is about setting a development timeline.
                • They’ve realized their defense and civil systems are intertwined because you can’t mobilize troops if your cities can’t absorb missile strikes, cyber blackouts, or supply disruptions. Rebuilding that resilience will take years, so they’re setting the clock now. Sweden’s war mode rhetoric, cited directly by Defense Minister Pål Jonson , fits the same logic. As NATO’s newest member, Sweden is normalizing deterrence.
                • The government is openly telling citizens that peace depends on mental and practical readiness. That means educating the public, updating emergency shelters, stockpiling fuel and grain, and training coordination between the military, municipalities, and civilians. Sweden’s message “prepare to preserve peace”captures the essence of Europe’s mindset of deterrence through societal awareness, not blind militarization. The Netherlands and other smaller NATO countries are doing similar things on a smaller scale like auditing military fitness, reissuing Cold War era guidance, and testing rapid mobilization systems.
                • Even EU bureaucracy, usually sluggish, is moving fast, pushing for 40 percent joint arms procurement by 2027 and building cross border mobility corridors for troops and logistics . What ties all this together is timing. Across intelligence circles, the working window for a potential Russia/NATO test is roughly 2027–2032 the period when Russia could rebuild capacity lost in Ukraine and Europe must prove it can defend itself without guaranteed U.S. intervention. That’s why European leaders are hardening everything from energy grids to hospitals right now.
                • At a deeper level, this is about economic realism. Europe knows it can’t outproduce the U.S. or China militarily, but it can out organize through integration by pooling procurement, infrastructure, and industrial capacity. The shift from buy peace with trade to sustain peace through preparedness is Europe’s late awakening. After 30 years of de-industrialization and complacency, they’re rediscovering that resilience is a military asset as well as a societal one. This is a continental reset of expectations.
                • Europe is learning that deterrence begins at home with stocked shelters, functioning hospitals, and citizens who know what to do if the lights go out. What looks like fear is actually a quiet kind of strength and the recognition that peace isn’t the absence of war, it’s the ability to survive one.
