Beneath the quiet grass of a neighbourhood park in Kingston, Ontario, thousands of bodies still lie just below the surface. Once a cemetery for the poor, the unknown, and the forgotten, the land was converted into a public park—without removing most of the dead.

Locals nicknamed it Skeleton Park, and for good reason.

For decades, residents have reported bones surfacing after rain, children digging up skull fragments, and apparitions wandering between the trees. Some hear footsteps on empty paths, others feel hands reaching from the soil below. Even the swings are said to move on windless nights.

But this haunting goes deeper than ghost stories—it’s a tale of poverty, neglect, and how society treats the dead when they become inconvenient.

In this episode of Down the Crooked Path, we uncover the unsettling history of Skeleton Park, the spirits said to roam it, and the chilling discoveries that still emerge to this day.

🕯️ Some places bury the past. In Kingston… it refuses to stay underground.
