Hello Again.

Things are weird right now. Thanks for your patience!

Composer Chats is a radio-style show where Jake "Composer" Jacobson (@Th3Composer) and the occasional guests talk about gaming headlines and what we've been playing lately.

We try to make up for last week's shortie with a... longie? Gears of War 5 joins other First Party Xbox games as part of the Smart Delivery System that will upgrade your game from Xbox One to the Xbox Series X for free. Nintendo is staying busy, and so is Hearthstone (but I'm only actually interested in the one with the sick Jean Jacket). I'm also joined by Connor Richards (@XzibitAtLaw), as we take a look at Riot Games' new "Community Competition License" and what it means for perspective Organizers, especially at the High School & Collegiate levels.

Then I talk about Gundam Battle Assault 2, the Best Fighting Game Ever Made.

It's a short one. And it's mostly about COVID. If this is a spoiler, I apologize.

Another Headline-heavy week, as we talk about what we know so far about the Smash World Tour as long as some release and new game announcements. We talk about GDC being postponed, and I'm joined by friend of the show Justine, who walks me through COVID-19 and what's so dangerous about travel during a potential outbreak.

Animal Crossing News Has Arrived!  It's pretty much what you think, but also you can just straight up destroy cliffs and rivers. This seems like a lot of power for one person living on one island, but this is the fantasy presented by Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Also, I can't stop playing Pokemon. They just... they got me with this one. They have me. I like Pokemon, OK?

With what may be the most appropriate, and also worst, timing, we talk to Kalle "Ori_Bro" Wanagat (@KoolOriBro) about running events through the ages, in which we definitely sound Old. Then, we dip into organizing and running Frostbite, the creation of its many forms of advertisement, and touch on what it's like working with Nintendo officially.

Animal Crossing News Is Coming! Just... not as fast as the game, Animal Crossing. What if they just released the game early, as a joke... haha

Pushblock Gaming's WOOD (@THEWoodmasta) took some time out of his busy law school schedule to talk to me about his motivations in the smash community and the anatomy of a character analysis. I got a glimpse into what it's like deciding what you should and shouldn't create as content, and lemme tell ya--couldn't be me.

Happy Holidays! We get Travis Talboys (@Homenekonomics), Thomas Quintana (@TrapExpert), and Jake Jacobson (@Th3Composer) in the same room to reprise their hit Podcast that you've definitely heard of, Power Rank Kings, where they solve common problems by making a list.

I sat down with NG's Collin "Prod" Castellano (@ProdCaste) and Sam "Zurheide" Braden (@ZurheideSSB), two of the founders of Indiana State University's Sycamore Smash club, about the circumstances around the creation of a smash club, the impact college smash scenes have on the larger scene, and what it's like to lead one.
