In this episode, we discuss the life of Abram and his response to Melchizedek, king of Salem. On the other hand, we observe his rejection of the offer of the King of Sodom. These conflicting and contrary choices represent the requests we will constantly deal with as we walk in the Christian faith as disciples of the Lord. We pray that the Lord will help us always choose "Salem" instead of "Sodom" and build a "movement" that honors God and is not a "monument" for ourselves.

The discussion in this episode centers around Abram's large heart in his relationship with Lot. Abram models a virtue needed for raising disciples in the Christian faith. In a sense, we see a pastoral heart of a genuine mentor or disciple-maker in Abram. Abram's heart was "roomy" enough to overlook Lot's error and still run to his rescue while Lot was in trouble. We saw that God is seeking those ( you and I) who will develop such a large heart in raising disciples for the Lord among the younger generations.

In this episode, we discussed the life of Lot after separation from Abram. He chose for himself based on his understanding, while Abram heard from God before deciding. For Lot, he found himself amid pre-existing battles of kings that led to His captivity and everyone with him. What lessons can you learn from Lot as you choose the direction of your life? It is never to lean on our understanding but to trust the Lord. 

This episode concludes our reflections on the relational crisis between Abram and Lot in Genesis 13. Today, we saw how Abram who seemed passive in the process of the land allotment received God’s blessings for himself and his future generations. He built an altar of worship thereafter. God’s will is perfected in His ways.

In this episode, we continued drawing lessons from the story of Abram and Lot in Genesis 13. There are bound to be relationship issues in the journey of faith. The question is, how do we handle the tension that may occur in relationships that matters to us? Abram and Lot's relationship was about to suffer because of the conflict between their herdsmen. How did they handle the potential conflict between them? Can we draw wisdom from Abram about how to appropriately respond to the strife and conflict in relationships? May the Holy Spirit speak to you and help you respond to the potential relational crisis in your life appropriately.
